GRRRR ROUGH DAY AND YESTERDAY
Ever have one of those kind of days ? Yesterday started out wonderful and full of promise. That is probably why it turned out to be such a comical day of errors. The night before I could not sleep I was so excited about getting to take off my insulin pump. It would have been a little over a year of wearing the thing and over ten years of using insulin that I had been used to. Now, I was to be set free from the constant care of this hormone to the daily dosing of type two pills. I will still be watching what I eat, counting carbs, an exercising to keep the blood glucose down. Watching my cholesterol will also play a part in this grand scheme as well. So, with all this on my mind and my daughter's wedding, I did not sleep well last night. Still, I had to get up and go to PT bright an early, then run to a doctor who was suppose to have a letter ready for me for a medical device I am taking on the plane with me next week. When I got to his office, the letter was not ready.

I decided to go run an errand...on the way ... I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing and rearranged a little old lady's bumper.

I did more damage to my car than hers, but try telling that to her. Sure, I tried to reassure my insurance would take care of her.

I had to call my hubby and have him come pick me up since I needed to get the scooter out of the car before the car was towed. The radiator was leaking and I was told I had better not drive it. Hubby and every one around us thinks I am the only one around nervous about the wedding, including my daughter and FSIL. Must be, but I also don't like airports or plane rides either. When My daughter called, I told her I did a *****( HER NAME). She laughed and reminded me it was our son who had done what I just did and not her. KIDS, how they remember ! Anyway, this is just several things that went wrong yesterday, except for the blood sugar.
Just to give you all a look at my blood sugar readings since going off insulin, here they are :
103,108,77,56,69,100,121,92,75,89,112,101,76,81,67. These readings are actually way too low so it looks like the dosage or one of the meds will need to be dropped. I have had to eat extra because of the lows. I have had to change my eating program around for the next few days until I can get everything adjusted. Therefor, I will not concern myself with weight loss until things get balanced. I will eat between 1300-1400 if I have to for lows until this is worked out. Then I will make sure I go back to 1300. I'm just making sure if I need those extra cals for lows I won't be upset. This adjustment period is ok. I have gone through them before as you all know. My therapy session had to be cut short today because of a low and I couldn't exercise any more today because I was too low. Once my sugars return to normal, I will be fine.
I'll be back, I have a little more news, but it is time to make dinner.

:rock1: It sounds like you are on top of everything. I'm sure your cholesterol numbers will be great too. Do you take medication at all for that? Sorry about the fender bender and your car being towed away. I'm glad you and the other person are okay.

The "real" aquajogging class is at a university with an olympic size pool so the class in a lap pool at the gym is a big change!! Luckily they provide the belts but I would like to get one to take to my parents pool. As far as maintaining my loss, I am still wanting to lose about 15 more pounds so I am kind of nervous when they day comes!! I have found that since I have lost the weight I enjoy working out more and actually miss it. My boyfriend actually tried to find me some classes to take while I am injured because he said he couldn't take me being a
:angry2:. I did notice I was in a much better mood last night after I worked out.

Hi! I am happy to hear from you!
=D My sister is doing great. She does not have an eating disorder, but she was become very obsessive with calories and CONSTANTLY thinking about food--luckily, she recognized this as a sign that she could slip into an eating disorder and she started going to a RD. The RD reccommended she take a step back from CK for awhile and focus more on eating intuitively and why she eats the way she does...needless to say it was a great decision for her and she has been doing really well!
=D Thanks for the advice about PT...I am definitely going to get a consultation I think!

I am glad you are OK, what a day!! The good thing is everyone is ok and your blood sugar readings weren't off the charts without the pump. I would have probably locked myself in a nice little padded room with no windows by the end of that day!

Well I was in a car accident recently and it rattled me too. I also stayed calmer than the other "participant", but he had a meltdown. This is "just life." But the problem is if you couple that with changes (going off the pump) and major life events (a wedding) you have the recipe for a perfect storm. Good thing you have such a level head and are able to step-out of the box to calm yourself down. Wait until solid ground is under foot before tackling anything more. You'll be there again soon. Also, you'll do fine on the plane. Maybe you'll have a nice seatmate or a great view of Texas just beneath you. Best wishes, Cheryl51

Glad you're OK. Sounds like the universe is telling you to slow down and relax a bit. You've got a lot going on in a short period of time - cut yourself some slack. Do something special for you today!
