I have been resting all day and not even washing clothes or or unpacking much today. The dog and I have been enjoying sitting in each others company catching up on a few missed tv shows and NOT seeing any rain today. I decided to tell my tale by days if I can remember what happened each day. I did write down what I ate each day except for the the wedding dinner . I just didn't know how to log that dinner. And yes, I actually had to have a piece of wedding cake ( grooms cake because it was chocolate because my blood sugar dipped and I needed the sugar. The waitress kept taking away my fruit plate after I asked her nicely to leave it at my table since I knew I would need some fruit through out the night.

( MY mother-n law got upset when she found out the fruit cup they were suppose to have served the diabetics never were served to us...neither did we get our champagne for the toast at my table, but since none of didn't notice or seem to care since we were all non drinkers to begin with ( except the father of the bride who by then would have loved some ). So, out of necessity I had a little cake until they staff could go track down some fruit for me. I didn't know to go ask the manager who was in charge who I should have because I didn't know I was suppose to have gotten a fruit bowl to begin with. I also had to use some of my sugar tablets. But more on the reasons for my low blood sugar on the wedding night. I was an energizer bunny popping all around the room and using up a lot of energy.
The trip though started out through a lay over in Chicago International. I had made some turkey wraps which were perfect for flying. We ate our food during the two hour lay over and had some time to explore the airport and stretch our legs. This airport had the neatest thing to me. They get the golden bathroom award for the cleanest and most unusual toilette seat covers. The toilette seats are covered with plastic that change every time you move your hand over this sensor so the next person has a clean seat ! Cool, huh !! I wanted to take a picture of this but my husband thought this would be going too far.:afraid4
That afternoon, when we got to Grand Rapids, we had to drive to Sawyer, Michigan which is where our motel was. The kids were staying in St. Joesph, Michigan which is where the triathalon was to be held on Saturday. We all were going to meet up the next day since everyone was tired. So, we ended up a a little restaurant called Fitzgeralds in Sawyer that turned out to be a gourmet restaurant. The prices were 12.99 and up. Hubby and I split a 6 0z filet mignon. It was one of the best I have ever had. We had mashed potatoes ( about 1/2 cup each ), 4 oz. of asparagus, a romaine salad, and some french bread. ( I had 1.5 oz of bread to go along with the .5 oz of bread that the meat was served on. My portable scale came in handy in helping me keep to my portions.
Day two I ate my weetabix cereal I brought with me and some blueberries we purchased the night before in a grocery store along with my soy milk. P had a waffle and some blueberries. Then we went sight seeing since we had time before we were to meet up with the kids. We toured the back roads to some wineries, came across some huge corn fields, a stinky barn, a riding school, and a lot of pretty flower gardens and barns that Bun would love to paint. Sorry Bun, I didn't get any pics of them, but I did get pics of the place where the wedding took place for you.
Latter that morning we stopped at fruit stand and bought some Michigan cherries which were selling for 1.98 a pound !!!!!! AND THEY WERE good ! If I gained any weight over this week end, it was because of these cherries. We then went to meet the kids were the triathalon was going to be held and walked around with them as they got their pre-race stuff together. We went and got our lunch which was a grilled panni rueben and got them a grilled panni club. I asked for some cucumbers and tomato slices instead of chips. It seems most places didn't serve fruit. We mostly had water that day, but P drank a lot of DP as he said it was his holiday. :afraid. I did a lot of walilng that day and wondered how I would have done if this event took place last year when I was heavier and more out of shape. I am so glad I had been walking on the treadmill and doing my exercises. I want to thank Nadine an Amy for their inspiration in this area. They both got me out of the house and to the gym. Thanks guys. It really paid off this week end, especial at the reception dinner when I actually mad a fool of myself and danced with the girls.

Well, I have to go fix dinner. I'll write about the triathalon, the rehersal dinner, and wedding tomorrow.
This pic is of the kids and the cake. I got below the wedding photographer and took this one.

You and puppy deserve a break and some hangout time! Such a busy time. You're so conscientious and smart when it comes to food planning. Love to see what you wore to the wedding. I'll bet it felt wonderful to dance with the girls. Toss up your heels and go, girl!

I laughed outloud when I read your comment on my blog, Lory. My husband NEVER notices when I get my hair cut. Thank god I have a daughter -- she always points it out. She doesn't like when I get it colored -- which I do every so often to cover the gray patches! As for the hair it is 100% au-natural. It curls up even more when it is shorter -- believe it or not my biggest consideration is being able to put it up for a workout! What does that say about my life
