View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

I was going to write about the wedding tonight, but I'm just getting time to blog. So I will leave the address to Beka an Aaron's wedding photos so if anyone wants to go see them you can go and look. Also, there are some of Aaron's photos he took of Beka in her dress and of her and their vacation. He is a gifted photographer. I will sit down tomorrow and tell you about the wedding.
I have not been blogging as much lately because I have been participating in the 5 @ time forum that is going through the Beck Book. After we complete the book, I will come back to my blog and spend more time here. I thought it was worth it to read the book and go through a discussion of it with a group of people. I will try to keep up with everyone's blog on the weekends. My blogs may be a little shorter than usual for a while.
Today, I learned I can't over do my exercise speed on walking because of my SI Joint. My legs have the strength to walk fast on a treadmill, but my SI Joint can't take any speed faster than 2.2 on the treadmill without getting inflamed. RATS, that means I can't burn a lot of calories unless I will eventually be able to go longer which I have been told not to do right now. Right now I am limited to 40 minutes on the treadmill, 20 minutes on light weights, and 30 minutes stretching and core exercises every other day. The core exercises and stretching I am suppose to do every day three times a day. The question is, is this enough exercise to warrant getting an HRM. My PT thought it was since I would be able to tell exactly how many calories I burn up. What do you all think. When I walk, according to the gym's treadmills, I never get my heart rate above 95. I have no idea what happens when I lift the weight machines since I am lifting the very lightest of all weights. At home I do aerobics on my "STEP" to music for 30 minutes with 2 pound weights in my hand. I never go real fast and just do my own thing. I have no idea how many calories I burn. The object here is just to get my body moving and heart rate up some. I figure stretching is a little like yoga or pilates in calorie burn since I have to concentrate on keeping my stomach tight and breathing. Maybe Marjorie would have an idea on this one.
This week have my last of three steroid shots in my SI-Joint. It was set up before I went on vacation. since I am no longer on insulin, I do not know how tis is going to effect my BG level. I will have to call my Endo Dr. and see how to treat my diabetes with regular insulin shots if needed during this time. This is kind of scary for me. It is uncharted territory for sure. I also have to see my foot Dr. tomorrow. I will have to get him to get me an order for the specialist to check out my legs. I have been told I have one that is shorter than the other and thus this is one reason I have a problem with my SI Joint. When I walk it causes some pain. My orthotics can be adjusted to accommodate for this once we find out which leg is shorter. I'm hoping this will alleviate some of the pain I have when walking. Which brings me to a point. A lot of people have this problem, so if you are experiencing problems in your hip or SI joint area while walking or running, get this checked out.
Well, I finally got my act together and have quit eating after bedtime snack time. It took some sowing wild eating oats to get it out of my system. For a while there I just had the munchies and thought I was going back to my old ways. Wow, I thought I was never going to get back on track, but I guess I was just nervous about all the stuff that I had going on in my life. For me, I have to have xalm waters to be successful to diet. When things get tense, I eat.
Thanks for reading all of this. I will keep it shorter in the future, except when I share about the wedding tomorrow. God be with you.
here is the address to the pictures and the above pic is the honeymoon cottage the kids stayed at at the lodge where they got married.

There is only one listing for yoga in CK's database to figure calories. I've worn my HRM during yoga class and it's never what CK says! If you're doing some weights you're probably getting your HR up a little, but I've found that it goes up & down a lot and really only goes up when I'm doing tough stuff like push ups and squats, but everyone's body is different...so I think if you're really interested in knowing how many calories you're burning and can afford to spend the $100, go ahead and get the HRM. One day you'll be boogying :rock1: on that treadmill and want to know what you're burning! :wink2:

I eat with stress also....but am learning some new techniques to substitute for the "comfort" eating, which is REALLY no comfort at all if it leads to a weight gain or feeling bad about yourself for going off plan. Ihave a HRM but it's not the kind for monitoring my calories. I would think that would be important for you to know. I wouldn't think the shot would effect your body systemically, hopefully not. Thank you for the pictures. The one above is a gorgeous shot - I'm thinking of painting it. I love houses, and water reflections, and landscapes. There's not much I don't like when it comes to painting, tho' :laugh5:

Lory, you write as much as you need to, never apologize. I am so glad yoru steroid shots are finally finished. I am very happy you are not on insulin anymore, that is probably the highest accomplishment you could have done for yourself. You are doing so well and will never be that person again who did not take care of herself. You are there Lory!
