It's a ho hum Saturday. I am being lazy while my hubby is getting ready for a car rally tomorrow. He is going to race his car around these cones and see how fast he can go. i think I will go watch and listen to all the cars screech and screal. Maybe I can take pointers on how to avoid a take out from someone on the road. Last Sunday on my way to church someone tried to share my lane with me and knocked me off the road. grrr The person next to her moved over onto her lane and she did the same to mine giving me no where to go but off the road and I hit a gravel patch which caused my tires to spin off the the side medium and down the ditch. Thankfully I was in my hubby's car and was able to maneuver the car around the highway road which stood in my way. In any case, I wasn't too happy with the circumstances and wondered if I could have handled the car better. I wondered if I over steered hubby's sports car or if that patch of rocks my rear to swerve. I gain controlled of the car just in time to see this highway sign in front of me, so I turned the car into the ditch rather than try to get back on the highway and then had to let car slide down the steep embankment in order not to let the car get out of control. When I look back at it it was better than a roller coaster ride. . Still, I think I need some lessons on how to drive his sport car to know how to handle it better at high speeds so I will feel more confident. I probably did just fine considering I didn't hurt the car or myself, but I want to know if I over steered and caused the car to do what it did and if I can become a better driver. So, I asked mu hubby to find a driving school that teaches such things. We will see if there is one in the area. In the mean time I am going to this meet and asking the people who do this as a hobby if they have some answers on how to drive sports cars at high speeds.
Today is my son's 30th birthday. It seems only yesterday the little burger was screaming his little head off for his bottle and asking when the bowling show was coming on. So here's to David on his 30th.
