busy week, sore muscles, running tired

It's been such a busy week I haven't had much time to sit down at the computer or watch TV. I have been doing chores, cooking dinner, running errands, going to the gym, taking the dog to the vet, and even went for my quarterly appointment with my diabetic doctor today. Wednesday, I played chauffeur to my daughter whose husband took her car keys to work with him and left her stranded ! I got the rescue call, " Mom, can you pick me up and take me to work ? MIlestones

Yesterday was my last my last day my physical therapist. I am taking a few moments to reflect upon my improvement over the past six months. Things I can now do that I couldn't do six months ago : walk 2 miles at 2.5 speed on the treadmill without pain afterwards, use the weight machines in the gym ( well any of them. I still am limited to only being able to use certain ones ),stretch and extend out my leg muscles to a 90 degree, bend over and touch the floor standing up, dry my hair with my hai...

resisting food while serving food

I did ok food wise. Tonight at church I am helping out with the refreshments for the evening Bible study group. This means I am the one responsible to set up, clean up, and make friendly reminder calls to those who said they would bring food. So, here I am, coming to the recovery group as a recovering food addict helping serve the refreshments ! What a test for sure. mushroom burgers

Have any vegetarians you have to feed ? Here are some mushroom burgers that I found in the local newspaper.
1 cup fresh basil leaves
1/4 cup walnuts
1/4 cup olive oil, plus additional for frying ( or grill and cut down on this added fat )
Kosher salt, to taste
1/2 white or yellow onion, diced
1 garlic clove, minced
3 green onions, chopped
1/2 tsp. cumin
1 cup chopped mushrooms

a little rusty

I'm finding I need to get some of my diet skills oiled and refreshed having not disciplined myself for the past few months. Yesterday I had a perfect night going until late. Then I got hungry and blew it. I need to remember hunger is not an emergency and I can go to bed with a few hunger pains. This won't hurt me. My blood sugar was fine.
