I decided to go ahead and blog today even though I am very much under the weather with some kind bug. Don't feel like eating much today with my tummy feeling the way it does.:( Glad I voted early. Speaking of voting, I will be glad when this day is over because my phone has been ringing off the hook today with every candidte in my district calling asking for my support. GRRR Just how many times and how many candidates can I get a phone call from !!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cross1::cross1::cross1:
With regards to the candy demon, it did pass thank goodness as did my lapse in eating. I also for the first time got rid of all the Halloween candy as we had over 60 kids this year ! It must have been the weather and the fact more kids have come into t %t age this year who live around me. We still had kids come even after we ran out as I was standing around with empty bags. It felt so good to get rid of all that temptation for once.
At Bible study I am in charge of calling those who signed up to bring refreshments to remind them to bring something. I must have started a trend by bringing some healthy snacks or making some suggestions to some people, but it has caught on and people are trying to bring food that everyone can eat. I try to make sure are two Celiacs have something to eat each week. We will have a pizza night, so I suggested a gluten free spaghetti dish for those who have health issues and can't eat the pizza. I will make that dish. I also will bring an Amy's Gluten free pizza with grilled chicken on it for our Celiacs this way everyone will be covered. I will call some people to bring some salads and fresh fruits so even a pizza dinner can be healthy. I even had one participant comment how I was steering us to bring healthier food which was good. I will take that as a compliment because I know it is much easier to bring cookies and snack foods than to bring veggies and real food that is healthy. Our plan is to eventually serve dinner before the Bible study ( A healthy dinner ). Anyway, things there are going better than I dreamed. I am getting good support too as I learn about God's help to over coming my food addiction and other problems.
Speaking of overcoming food problems, I figured the big reason I am having trouble getting past my stalemate and moving past these last 12 pounds. I am bored with my food that I have been eating to lose weight. I need to come up with some new foods that work to lose weight. You get tired of the same stuff after a while. I need to find something that interest me. Also I was tired of figuring out my recipes which do take time. Well, you will never get around that unless you find one that is already written out and in a book, so I must start to use some cookbooks more often and follow some recipes more to save some time. Now, I also must get down to the routine of sitting down and figuring out a days menu again.
I've ordered three pairs of shoes in hope one will fit....still looking for that magical pair of walking shoes...

Funny, I've been looking for walking shoes and found a pair in Kohls. I hate uncomfortable shoes. I just got a Cooking Light cookbook in a binder style, with a DVD included, and made a frittata that included couscous and peppers. Tomorrow I will make my vegetable pizza with multigrain dough (I buy it) and it has zucchini, red pepper, onions and mushrooms. I think to try new foods makes eating less routine and more of a sensory feast. When I get bored, I eat mindlessly. I hope you feel better soon!

You asked me about the weather in Salt Lake. We are having snow/rain right now. This week our lows are around freezing and our highs are between 39 and 51 degrees. Starting to get cold... Burr.. Thanks for you nice comments on my blog today. :wave1:

I hope you're feeling better soon. Good for you influencing everyone to a more healthy eating style. You're right - it's not as easy to bring something healthy. Glad you got rid of all your candy. :y: I think changing your food is a great idea. I got the Hungry Girl cookbook and found a few recipes in there that were pretty good. Like she says in the BEck book, it takes time to plan for this healthy eating plan, but you are worth it! :love: Thanks for taking the time to check out the Zazzle store - I'm not sure how they put the image on the bags - but if I were going to sell a lot I think I would find some way to do it myself rather than go through them. I love painting animals.

I'm so sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. I hope it is a short-lived bug and you get back to yourself again soon! Good for you for taking the initiative and getting healthier foods to your Bible Study classes! Maybe you can get some ideas for menus from some of the people who attend with you! Also -- have you looked at the CK menus that are available?
