View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

I'm feeling better finally and I think that I might have actually lost a pound this week. My eating consisted mainly of soup and grilled soy cheese sandwiches when I did eat and some egg beaters. I could eat some Soyjoy bars towards the end of the week, and of coarse there was plenty of Sugar free Jello when all else failed, but there were simply some days where food was not on the menu which for me IS VERY UNUSUAL ! I felt like getting out today and hanging with my hubby as he went to the auto parts store when he went to get parts for my car as he was finally working on my car. He has been putting off this repair job for six months. The Infinity dealer wanted $1,000.00 to replace the gasket because it is a very labor intensive operation. He spent all morning replacing the first gasket on the left side of the engine and will do the right side tomorrow morning or next Sat. ( Total labor ten hours ! thus the reason infinity wanted so much money...part cost...for gasket, $20.00, screws, 60.00, new clamps and fuel ejector hose 40.00...see where I am going, and I think the 1,000 Infinity quoted me might have been last years prices !!!!! My husband sure has saved us a bundle of money over the years by being able to fix our cars. Now if he could only sheet rock the ceiling where that water heater leaked a few months ago !!!!!
Anyway, back to feeling better, I will try to get back to my walking routine tomorrow. I mapped out a one, two, and three mile coarse around the house for when the weather is good and I can walk outside. My goal is to build up to three miles daily if my body allows it. Time will only tell. This will not happen if I don't get good shoes. I have two options here now, go custom, or get foot surgery because my foot does not fit into any of the 4w shoes on the market. I have tried them ALL. I will call my doctors Monday and start disgusing my options. I am a diabetic which makes foot surgery somewhat questionable. My Podiatrist told me the last time I talked to him that I have good circulation and could probably do well with surgery, but my diabetic doctor isn't fond of the idea the last time I talked to him about it. Thus, the reason for ten years I have not had the procedure done. Now, I am getting to the point I can not find shoes to fit though. Custom shoes run around 5-600 dollars a piece. I don't know how much custom running shoes run. I know custom bike shoes run 1600 dollars ! ( as if I am ever going to go biking, but It is my goal to get back on a bike ) I can't do anything if I don't have a pair of good shoes to exercise in. These past few months with the shoes I have been in have been wonderful, but too bad the shoes were a fluke according to the shoe company. Since then the shoe company started making the shoes more narrow, or the Chinese have. ( Which leads me to another one of my pet peeves...if the shoes were still made in America, they could make special shoes for me according to the Drew spokes person. Since the company no longer makes the shoes in America, they can no longer make special orders like mine ! Grrr And here we have people out of work in America and people like me who need shoes !!!!!!!! ) OK, I'm VERY BUMMED OUT tonight over not having a pair of shoes or knowing what to do or where to go or what ever.
Well, I do have some good news. I fit into an XL in running gear at the running store. I went to try on some shoes, no luck of coarse there. While at the running store I tried on some of those fancy running pants by Brooks and found out I COULD FIT !!!!!!!!!! Yea, did I look sweet ! Sure there's some flab on my legs, but they are actually thinner than I expected. I even tried on a cool running shirt and it fit too. Neat I looked like a real athlete. No, I didn't buy the outfit, I'll let someone buy it for me. Although, I am still wearing shorts that make me look three sizes too big and shirts that are a size bigger than I am. I will gradually get into my right size, but when I work out , I don't feel it's important to be in style, unless...maybe once in a while it might feel better =D

Gosh it seems like you bounced back from being sick really fast. That's great. I'm glad that you are feeling good now. You have teeny feet - I bet they would be hard to fit, even if you didn't need foot surgery. I was surprised to read how expensive a custom shoe would be. Ouch. I hope you find some that work for you and don't break the bank!

Wow! You must have tiny little feet! I guess there is a downside to being petite. (I was tall for my age until my friends caught up with me in Junior High and I have worn a size 9 since 5th grade!) Glad you're feeling better! Sounds like you were really, really sick!

I was going to say what Denise did - I could do the sheet rock - or at least help with it (it's a two person job). My ex and I did the ceilings in our first home -- we got a piece of wood that bends (like a "T";) to hold up one end, and I held up the other, and he hammered. If you don't mind my asking, what is the surgery you need on your feet? Right now your diabetes is under very good control, and you are fit and exercising, so I'm a little puzzled by his not wanting you to get the surgery done.

My husband could do the sheet rock but not fix the car, too bad we are so far apart or we could share our husbands talents, while we sit and sip a cool drink and "supervise"!
