Wednesday, Dec 3 2008 - Looking for recipes that freeze well

View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

I'm having to rest a tight knee this week so I don't know how much cardio I will get in. I can still get in my floor exercises which I will start right after I blog. Getting back into the groove is proving to be a little harder and more challenging than I anticipated. This just means I will have to do more planning than I am doing. I will also need to consider my budget this time around as my grocery money is shrinking some. I am looking for some cheaper healthier meals to go along with my regular meals. This shouldn't be too hard since I only need to feed two people. Right now I am looking through cook books for some ideas. Also I am looking for meals that can be frozen as I will be having surgery next year and will have to freeze some meals and need some dinners put away for post surgery weeks. I guess I better talk to Sue about what she did. If anyone has a good meal that freezes well please give me the recipe.
One little disaster happened during the Thanksgiving weekend I didn't share. My son did come down after we talked to him and requested his presence. He took time off from his job which we are happy about, but something happened between him and my daughter. He went out drinking the night before with his room mate and came back to my daughter's home a little under the influence as did his room mate who proceeded to take a bath to sober up. His room mate fell asleep in the bathtub and flooded parted their house ruining their newly installed laminate floor and my daughter's lap top. Now, my daughter has already had to make a claim on her insurance because of a burglary on their house and the insurance company has told them they can only get three claims on their house before they will be dropped. They also were told they have to wait several months to see if more damage pops up to the house like in the dry wall or any electrical wiring. Who should pay ?????? My son's room mate does not have home owner's insurance since he rents, but my son does. My son knew his room mate was passed out in the bath tub with running water ! My son didn't offer to help pay, but I say he is morally liable too. My SIL thinks the same thing. My husband and I are also concerned that my son drove his car DUI back from the bar. I believe we need to have a talk with him. What do you think ?

:hi: I agree with Marg, the friend should pay, plus I think your son should take over the situation, making sure his friend pays, making sure the work gets done etc. but knowing sons and guys the way I do, I wouldn't hold my breath for either to happen. Sorry that this has happened. Sorry that I didn't get to meet with you while so close in the Valley, perhaps you guys will be coming up this way sometimes. Have a great weekend

Oh my, that is quite a situation. How old is your son and his friend? I think the friend definitely should be paying for this, but your son bears some responsibility since he is the one who brought him there. Sadly there probably isn't much that can be done to convince the friend to pay. What a dilemma!
