View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

Nothing new going on today. I resigned my position as food coordinator in our Bible study group. I enjoyed helping putting the food together, but it was a drain on me when ever there were not enough people to volunteer for that week to bring food. Then it was up to me to bring the food. That got tough on my own personal budget. Yes, the church would pay me back, but that is not always how it worked out in reality. It also was apparent the same people were providing the food. Here's what I noticed on a personal note. I started gaining my weight when I started eating at my fellowship. I was ever so tempted to eat foods that I shouldn't and keep nibbling when I shouldn't. Oh, it was my own discipline that I worried about. I told my husband that I did better when I ate before I came and didn't participate in the dinner before the meeting. So, I decided to go back to what I was doing before. I have got to get back into my old routine and what worked for me in the past. It was a tough decision but one that I had to make. I love to cook for people, but until I can control myself and learn not to nibble on the food I am cooking and handle food environments better, I had better not put myself in them on a weekly basis. Once in a while OK, but not weekly yet. I also decided to put off my foot operation until after I visit my MOM in Denver in April. I don't want to be in any pain or be wobbly while I am up visiting her and my brother. I'ld rather be that way for my brother's wedding than when I visit my Mother who is not too well these days.
This weekend has been a bust as far as making it to the gym. The weather has also turned bad and I can't get out to walk. :cry3: The dog is driving me crazy....
My Christmas knife hasn't come in yet. :angry2: It could take another two weeks. Oh well. The Haan floor machine works well on laminate floors, but I am not impressed with it on tile.
Everyone have a good day.

Sometimes the greatest gift we give ourselves is saying "No". Bravo for taking care of your needs!

Been there, done that. I was a Girl Scout leader for nine years. In that time I funded many things. I was the neighborhood coordinator and would put together events for over a hundred girls. There was never enough help and found myself staying late to clean up because nobody would help with gathering trash, sweeping things or taking stuff out to my car. After awhile you have to say enough is enough. I would do anything for my girls but when I started college I had to stop because I put nearly thirty or more hours into my troop each week.

It's nice to evaluate what works and doesn't for you. Can't they have the meeting without the food? ....we had a 12 step at our church and there was no food. It was kept to exactly 1 hour, too, to make it manageable for the people running it. We would read from the 12 steps book for a bit, then everyone would have some time to share, if they wanted.

Good job putting yourself first Lory. It is so hard to take what we need when it is easier for others when we don't. As for the WW meetings, yes, I believe if you found a good meeting they would be beneficial for you. I find it terribly difficult to do WW points system along with counting calories, and counting calories works for me. When I go to the meetings, I just don't talk about the fact that I count calories and not points. I followed the WW program for so long that all of the rest of it makes sense to me and I can participate in the meetings just the same because the things they talk about are not usually specifically program related. I hope that all makes sense to you!

Good for you for standing up for yourself and doing what is best for you. They can get along without you and you can get along fabulously without the weight. You are a hero for even ever thinking of doing that job! Hope your Mom does better and that you have a great visit.

You have to do what is right for you. Putting a spread like that together every week is hard, I couldn't imagine putting that on one person every week!!

:hi: Hi Lory! :hi: It sounds like you have an excellent plan with getting back to what worked for you before. I also think that you made a great decision with your foot operation after you visit your mom.
