View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
Donk...I had just been hit up with two cortisone shots and been eating way too much sugar and carbs. That alone was enough to screw up my system and to set me off into some heavy insulin resistance patterns. I immediately went and got some warm water and drank it and have since been watching what I eat. If you are a diabetic you probably have experienced this weird sensation and know what I'm talking about. Marjorie knows what sugar does to her and she is not a diabetic but goes through the same withdrawals when she gets off sugar. People who have sugar problems physically can feel when their body gets too much sugar. For me, I get hungry and can never feel satisfied. Two hours latter I am hungry and thirsty again. My stomach even hurts with hunger pains. I feel weak, sweaty, and tired all the time. Then comes the weight gain because if you don't look out you are eating all the time to get the feeling to go away when to get the feeling to go away you have to STOP eating. That's the exact opposite. You have to cut down on the sugar and the wrong carbs when you are sugar sensitive or insulin resistant. I guess tonight's blog is this, learn body's warning signs about food. Often your body has little things that it will tell you to do to stop eating. When you are not feeling well, your body might say, go lay down, don't eat. In this process of losing weight, remember, part of this process is learning more about ourselves and how our body's work. Have a good evening and a great weekend. I'll be very busy and may not be able to get back on until after my next surgery. So, talk to you all next week after my next surgery. Hopefully, I won't be as sore after the last one as I have been with this one.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I'm glad you can control your blood sugars with an oral agent, and you're very wise to limit the amount of carbs. Those steroid injections really reek havoc with your body! You've done and AWESOME JOB, Lori. I pray that your financial situation will be resolved for you.

Did your blood sugar come down? Did you use just an oral agent before? ---or did you have injections? The problem with diabetes is the sugar is all in the blood and the transporter (insulin) is not delivering the sugar to the cells. That's the reason for the hunger, etc. Your body really is "starving". If the blood sugar came down, then your body is handling it, just not producing insulin fast enough.....it just needs a slower "sugar" infusion - and avoiding the high glycemic things is the way to go. You might want to discuss this with the doctor that handles your diabetes. Did you have your foot surgery? I didn't realize it. I hope you recover quickly. Thank you for your comment on my blog.

Wow...hope this all clears up quickly. I'm sure that's frustrating wanting to eat when you know it'll affect your weight loss goals. This too shall pass!
