View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
The new dog is settling in. We had to be gone some of the week end, but she did all right and showed she could be left alone for short periods of time. My dog is doing OK with her, but occasionally has to let the new dog know who is boss. I went and made sure my dog got her booster kennel cough shot Friday, but it may have been too late as I think she may have come down with it. Xena is all ready on antibotics for her allergies and was up to date on her shot, so the vet said if she does get it, it should be a mild case. Xena was scheduled to be up dated this week and I don't know why I didn't think before I bought home the other dog to check first to make sure when here kennel cough shot was going to need to be given again. As it turns out I was only a few days off, since she gets the shot every six months, but this may not be good enough this time to prevent her from catching it from Callie. I am a little mad at the rescue people for not reminding me of this before asking me to take in a rescue, but they also forgot. She just assumed my dog was up on all of it's shots, which it was, by one day for kennel cough ! Anyway, I think we will survive. Tomorrow I will sterilize all the floors with my Haan floor cleaner since Callie has been sneezing on them all weekend !!!! Hopefully after she gets well, we will get all the germs up off the floor and get this bug out of the house.
I had two out of five good eating days this week. I am going to clean out my pantry tomorrow of all of the bad food I bought into the house the last two weeks and not eat up the bad food, I decided it will be better to throw that food away than to eat it. I had a moment of weakness and bought some sugar junk food into the house last week. I know it just hit me like no other force I have experienced before and I found myself giving in to temptation. I told my husband I don't know what got into me. Well, I won't be eating it, it will be going into the trash can and he said it would be all right with him. I don't like the heavy feeling that I feel of these extra pounds around my pelvic region and back. The discomfort alone is motivation for me to get back to work on my diet and to stay on my regular eating patterns.
Tomorrow I am having fish, potatoes, mushrooms and spinach with a garlic sauce. Now doesn't that make you want to stay on your diet !

OMG, I have kennel cough too
:teeth2: I don't know what it is with the junk food, I am ashamed to admit that I ate all of mine
:$ I would think Xena should be fine with just a one day lapse in her shot but it depends on how healthy she is. I really do value your comments, they have helped me put things into perspective.

I should get one of those floor steamers. My house is an embarrassment. I'm glad you nipped your mood problem in the bud. How nice you have another dog! The companionship should be good for Zena. And fun for you. I was doing well on my DTour diet program but slipped a little. It takes constant planning and I sometimes feel too tired to do it. Full time job, up at 5:45. I have to make the time for it, for sure. I find when I eat sugar I feel like crap, so I am getting back to it. I will give a call when I get a chance. Today is our 13th wedding anniversary. We went out to dinner Friday, and the weekend went downhill from there. Oh, new week, new start. Take care! Glad you threw out junk!!

Trying to ease a new dog into your life is such hard work! Now I hear some determination in your voice as far as getting back to work on you -- you'll do it!!

Good for you on throwing out the "bad" stuff! We were out for dinner tonight - the hosts are two very very overweight people. They were given a BIG Toblerone chocolate bar as a gift - we brought wine. But the 9 other people that were there tucked into that bar - probably 1 or 2 ounces per piece. I had a tiny bite of my hubby's. I told her what I would have done with the left overs - garbage them - she was SHOCKED. It's a GR8 idea to get rid of those unwanted calories - I agree with you. Dinner for tomorrow at your house? I am OMW - on my way. Kel
