I'm so proud of our friend Terri and her success in finishing her first full marathon even though her feet hurt her and she got blisters into the 9th mile. She kept going even having to make visits into the medical tents through out the race. Now that is endurance and what the Bible calls finishing the good race. How this is such a good illustration as to the courage and determination it takes not only to face life, but to stay with an exercise routine, but a diet. Terri, you inspired me today as I face many challenges this week. Your determination even though your body didn't want to cooperate teaches me that I should not let obstacles interfere with my goals, especially after I have worked so hard to get where I want to be. What an object lesson you gave me. Some people think just because we have worked hard to reach our goals, once we get there it is going to be a cake walk, not so. Look at Terri's race. She got there after training really hard, and the race turned out to be even harder ! It won't always be that way for her, nor will life be that way for any of us. But, that kind of determination to keep going when things don't go as planned sure is to our advantage. So, let's learn from Terri and her courage and enthusiasm to finish the race. We are all here to finish a race of sorts. I know I am going to continue on until I finish my race now with the same kind of enthusiasm now and determination as I have seen in my friend. Thanks friend, in running your race you have set me free to start mine.
