View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
Off today for more minor surgery. I am waiting for my ride to the surgery center. Yesterdays shot is suppose to take care of the inflammation that I am having right now. My foot was numb all day yesterday as I could feel the med all the way down to my foot yesterday, which is a good thing. Today the chiropractor does his thing while they put me under for the next three days. The only bad thing about this is getting IVs three IV's in a row. Yesterday the nurse miss my vein twice before she got a vein, so using my hands today will be tricky and sore. I bruise easy too so I will look like a drug addict after all these procedures too.

. I am hoping that in a week or so I will be able to get back to exercising, or at least walking. I realize now I must have burned more calories exercising than I thought because my body sure got used to needing the calorie burn because it was used to the amount of food I was eating. I have found it hard to cut the calories in relationship to a sedentary lifestyle and that is probably why I have easily picked up these pounds. I saw a new sight which calculated exercise calories and it showed someone my height and age only needs 1250 cals a day if I do not exercise. Gee that's not a lot of food if I go by that guy's chart. CK had me at 1330. Anyway, I need to exercise at least 30 min three times a week min. to just have moderate results at weight loss or just to maintain at eating around 1400-1500 calories a day it seems. If I want to lose I need to exercise 5 times a week and not eat back any exercise calories it would seem. So, exercise is a key ingredient for weight loss at this stage for me. When I first started out I could get by without it, but I was over weight by 100 pounds and any cutting back was a drastic change for my body. It has been said the closer you get to a more normal weight the harder it takes to work it off. I now understand why. It takes more for the body to adjust to the changes and losses. Everything has to work just right for that fat to burn off just right the closer you are. The older fat wants wants to stay as my dietitian said to me one day. Ugh, I know I have a lot of work ahead of me. This week will be unusual as I will be fasting most of the day for three days, but I plan on getting right to work on my plan Friday. I have my first week planned out.
I know it will take a few weeks to get back into weight loss form, but I have to do it. You all hold me accountable.

Good luck with your surgery, Lory. I agree - not many calories to fool around with.

Sheesh! you sure seem to be on to something here with the older fat not wanting to leave! Sure does explain a lot. I'll have to start meditating about saying good by to that old fat that has been around for so many years -- then it will be softened up and ready to go when I get down to it. At least that's the plan!
Please feel better soon; so many are wishing you a speedy recovery.
