Wednesday, May 20 2009 - Running over by just a little now
View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
I'm beginning to settle down now with my eating. I'm running over by just a little now. I think I will have the sweet thing under control in a few weeks if not days now. Like Amy and Nadine did, I may or probably will have to go on a no sweets for a month to get them out of my system. I will say one thing though, I did discover one low fat brownie mix that my husband enjoys that makes single servings that is 120 calories per serving. It is a no fat brownie made with yogurt. Now that I need to give up sweets for a while, I will have to put these brownies on the back burner, but I can easily make them for my husband's lunch. For those who are interested in this product, check out : No Pudge ! FUDGE BROWNIE Mix distributed by Reily Foods Co. www.NoPudge.com. I found this product at Whole Foods. You can make a single serving in the micro wave is less than 2 minutes.
In the mean time, I have gone to simpler meals with fewer ingredients. This was the key to my weight loss diet the first time. I got kind of bored after a year and a half eating simple meals, but it works because simple meals have less calories in them and more bulk. They are usually just a grilled piece of meat, steamed veggie, and a simple starch, with a fruit dessert. Then one day a week I would make a more complicated recipe like a meatloaf or a casserole. Lunches woulds often be sandwiches, salads, and fruit. My breakfast is usually an eggbeater omelet, an english muffin or corn tortilla, and a piece of fruit. Then for snacks I eat fresh veggies and hummus, popcorn, pretzels and cheese, yogurt, crackers and cheese, granola bars, etc.
I was a bad girl today and didn't get too much exercise in. I caught up on paper work and tv shows that I had recorded over the past two weeks today. I also spent time with my dogs who were feeling neglected since I was gone a lot last week. Xena was all over me today every time I sat down. Callie was finally learning her place and routine of how we watch tv now. Xena sits next to me, Callie sits between my legs on the stool where I prop my legs up with her head on my lap.
I am going to get my hubby's anniversary present tomorrow. He wants his No2 tank for his car filled. I'm going to a specialty store to have it filled. Although there aren't too many occasions he can push that button on his car to make the nitro make his car go fast. Still, he likes to have it in his car for bragging rights and to take friends out on the highway and show off.

So, wifie, will go get the tank of nitrous filled for him and put a red ribbon on the button for our Anniversary.
Well, have a good day.

Happy Anniversary! You are so right about the simpler meals. A good reminder for me...and boy! do I need it! Eeek! I ate things I totally should not have the past few weeks.

Thanks for your comment on my blog and for giving me suggestions on dining at Panera. I had the egg soufflé'. I best look that up. It may have not been the best choice. You are motivation!

I know what you mean about making a single serving of things and eating plain. It seems that even though I make more complicated meals, it takes only one or two spoonfuls while you are cleaning up the pot to throw your diet off. I have been making individual dinners withough leftovers so that I don't eat those extras while cleaning up. I have been telling myself when my plate is done at dinner: "I'm fed up - so no more."

My husband loves fruit pastry, so I bought premade tart shells and fillings. It has so much preservative in it - it will last forever. Then I take out 2 or 3 tart shells and pop them in the oven and he has his fruit tarts - and I am safe from goodies.
Now I am back home I can get back to my exercising. It was okay to walk around the RV parks, but I really need more Wii exercise in front of my tv to break a sweat, and that is what seems to get me on the losing streak.
Glad that you are back on track and you have things under control. GFY - Kel

I love
 No Pudge brownies... I have no willpower for chocolate, so if I have a whole pan, I keep "shaving off just a little sliver... you know, to neaten up the edge!" But with the single serving ones, I have one yummy rich brownie and I'm good to go! Great job getting back on track... your weight loss is phenomenal and very inspiring!
