Friday, May 29 2009 - yesterday, a small victory
View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
Yesterday I had a good food day. I actually stayed on my diet until I needed some food because of a low blood sugar which was totally unexpected. I had cut back on my food without cutting back on one of my meds. So, today I will leave out my evening medication and see how it goes. If at ten I have a reading over 120 I will take the medication. If I am under 100, I will let it be and see where my blood sugar is the following morning before I decided to continue to take the medication at night when I cut back on calories and carbs like I did yesterday. Today I have pre-logged what I am going to eat today so we will see if I can follow my plan. I am determined to get these extra pounds off and get back under 150 before November.
I am now getting some support in my Celebrate Recovery group as several people are now admitted to being over eaters themselves. Several have committed to doing little things like not eating any sweets except on special occasions or nor eating junk food. Several are committing themselves to stopping smoking. Finally, I am not alone and admitting to be the only eater in the group. It was obvious too ! This will help me when we get together for food related events too because I will have some people who will not be hitting the desert table and can help give me moral support as I look the other way.
Since I have been going to this 12 step program and doing it's home work, I have not spent much time on the computer. I have been spending more evening time with my husband who is also going through the program. We have been working through the program and getting closer to eat other. When he goes off to bed, I have a little time to come spend on the computer, but sometimes I am too tire by then. This is why you haven't seen me around here lately. The hard part of the program is just about up and I should have a little more time in the future. I also got a rescue dog that has needed much training !!!!!!Need I say more !!!!!!
Speaking of rescue dog. She has calmed down significantly and has stopped chewing the walls and window ceils. I got her some tough toy chew toys and it takes her a couple of weeks before she demolishes those. She and the little dog are getting along, but I have to referee a lot and play pack leader. She now knows when I say" cuddle time", that I mean, let's get in the chair and watch TV. "Walk", means go for a walk." Calm," means to sit patiently so I can pet her.
I came up with a game to play when I'm grilling called, " who's faster, me or the flies. I try to swat the flies around the area with a swatter to prevent any from getting into the house before I open up the door into the house. The dog came up with a game too. Who's faster, me or her when food falls from the grill. ( not that I would eat anything that falls from the grill, but she isn't suppose to either ! ) Callie enjoyed the Bisson burger tonight.

I grilled dinner tonight in the afternoon before hubby got home. We go to our CR meeting tonight and I wanted dinner to be ready when he gets home and the kitchen to be already cleaned up. To bad I have a whopper of a headache tonight though. Anyway, have a good week all.

We have been having trouble with flies lately too -- very annoying! //as for the gym membership, I was fortunate to have TWO at the time, so I had to pick one. I really didn't want to go back to having two, in truth we can't afford it, but I am trying to put a $$ value on my time, and I can't. It will be easier when my kids are out of school later this week and I don't have to worry about lunches, etc. //5 lbs by November is COMPLETELY reasonable!!

I noticed you haven't been around much lately, I have missed you!!I am glad you have some support in the recovery group, it really helps to know you aren't in it alone. You would think we could outgrow peer pressure but not so much. Sounds like your little one is very smart!! High energy dogs are often time misunderstood and I am glad you have found a way to get through to her!!
