where's the hummus

Have you ever been asked a question the person asking probably knows the answer already ????? Tonight my my husbands asked if we had any more hummus when he looked in the frig. He knew I had been home all day laid out with from my back procedures of the other day. He also knew he had eating up all of the hummus (
and left me none ). Grr, so, why did he ask me a question he knew the answer too ? Maybe he wasn't thinking, or maybe he was secretly hoping I had jumped out of bed today and ran up ...
