Monday, Jun 29 2009 - breaking the cycle
View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
So far I am managing ti break the binging cycle at night and control my night time eating. I occasionally take a few extra bites of food, but nothing that could be put into the binge category. In other words I am successfully controlling my eating now even if my calorie count is still too high to effectively lose some pounds. Goal one has been accomplished though. Kill the night time eating and get control back into my life, or feel the control once again.
It really helps not to have the foods around the house that I would eat uncontrollably around. I also have it where I have to prepare most of the food that there is to eat before I can stuff it down my mouth. This makes me think twice before doing so. Fruits have to be washed or peeled, veggies sliced, popcorn popped, yogurt, measured and sweetened with fruit or something etc. Some day I will bring crackers and pretzels back into the house, but after I get control back. Yes of course I always measured those out, but they were also my greatest binge out food too. Cereal, except for Weetabix, was too.
This week hubby is on vacation so I don't know if I will be keeping on my regular schedule any. We pretty much do what he wants to do when he takes days off. So, I'll get on line when I have a few moments. Have a good week if I don't.

I'm working on the nighttime eating too. Friday night I spent the evening hanging out at a friend's house playing on her Wii. In the past I would have stopped to get a snack on the way home but I didn't. I felt fulfilled by my evening and realized I didn't need it. That was a great feeling! The TV is a trigger for me so I have to keep myself busy at night.
