I did my first full WW meeting today including learning the point system. Compared to the CK count your own calorie I would give it a toss up to ease. I can say foe me I am so used to counting calories it will be hard to go to a point system. I will try it just for the fun of it. It might liven up my routine some. I am glad I already know just how many carbs I can eat though and how to space out my carbs as the system doesn't go into that very well.

Where this program excels at are the meetings, especially if you have a good leader. I picked a good leader, apparently one of the best ones in Houston too. She is the top award leader in the area for having her people reach goal and staying there. And she is interesting too, not someone who will just let you sit there and listen, but make you participate in the meetings.

Honestly, it is about 60 calories per point, which is why it ends up sooooo confusing. I would think that the calories would come out near the same, but WW would never advocate less than 1,000 calories a day for anyone. I know that when I follow points I get MUCH less calories in day than when I am counting cals alone, and it all has to do with the quality of the food (fat, fiber, etc, that CK doesn't "penalize" you for. // And remember 18 points a day is the lowest, not factoring in your 35 "extra" weekly points or any exercise points at all. So, if you wanna eat more, you have to work more, right?

It is hard to go from one to the other (points/calories) but you get used to it -- I actually THINK in points now.

Sounds like you found a great place for support. A good WW leader makes all the difference. Several years ago I was going to WW in Burbank, CA and there was a leader there who was so fun! When people announced their successes at the end of the meeting she would get everyone to say "Looooooooking gooooood!" It made the meetings fun!
