View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

Thinking. Tonight I have been thinking about where I have been and where I must go. I am remembering the Lory who could not walk the grocery store and needed one of those carts to get around to now where I deliberately walk around the store in circles just to get exercise when I am shopping not to mention how I park the farthest I can in the parking lot now so I can get in a few extra steps where as before I needed to park in the handicap spaces. I don't shop for sweets, I shop in the vegetable section now.I love the vegetarian section more than ever now, cookies be gone.

Someone today asked me if I am a little compulsive about counting calories or the whole " diet " thing. I told her unless you have to be it would appear so, but ask any diabetic who has to count carbs every meal, no. I guess the only thing compulsive about it is, I talk about it to "non " calorie counters who don't want to hear about it. So, I promised I would shut up about it to my non calories counting friends. I do think if you have my for ever have to watch my weight problem, you have to be a little fanatical about what you eat though. You have to be one of those people without getting too compulsive to where you get into an eating disorder type thing. This is why she asked this question to me. Good point for my sponsor to ask me. She would not have asked me this if I was just counting carbs though for my diabetes. My point.

On the light side, I have a dog that get's excited about her meal time. She barks and turns half flips when I say dinner time. Then she goes and gets the other dog to make sure she knows it's dinner time too. Now this dog also knows when it is medicine time for the other dog. She knows that means evening treat time. It all started out when I got her and had to give her anti-botics when I first bought her home. I gave her a treat afterward like I did with my other dog. Well, her medicine stopped, but my other dog is on continual medication. How do you tell the other dog she is NOT going to need any more medicines and thus need that treat ! NOT ! So, Callie pretends to get a pill...treat...then a treat. Thus, when I say medicine time, she knows that means evening treat time. SO, I guess if I ever have to give her a pill I will have it made. Oh, just to make it hard on this dog, I put her treats in a Kong. My dogs favorite treat, VitaLife's Sweet Potato Chews.

Have a nice weekend.

Sometimes I feel that people comment on our calorie counting, because they are jealous we have the discipline, and they have not.

I used to put my dog's treats in a Kong too--now that she is almost 16, I just give them straight to her, though. She did love to get them out of the Kong when she was younger! Thanks for your comment on my blog; I follow yours pretty often too, though I don't comment regularly. We spend every summer in Alaska (it is my home state), & I work full time while we are there, so I don't think of it as a vacation--but we do have a lot of fun there! We have a little cabin about 4 miles west of Fairbanks.

Insightful thoughts about your "non calorie counting" friends. I too have that problem, and they laugh when I pull out my scale at the restraints. But their BULGES and PUDGES are gonna catch up with the mirror, right? Keep on going - and never say "Handi-cap parking" again. Hugz - Kel :rock1:
