Thursday, Sep 3 2009 - My dog is a food addict

View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

Have you ever had help with your food addiction from someone who enables you ? Well I have an enabler of the four footed kind, my dog. My dog is a food addict. She will eat anytime, anything, anywhere, about any amount that is placed in front of her. When she has nothing to eat she has to go find something to chew on whether you provide it or not ! This can be something whole some and dog friendly or something you don't want her to chew on. Needless to say she has also picked up on some of my bad eating trends, like getting up in the middle of the night to sneak a snack sometimes. :$ She will joyfully jump ahead of me to the kitchen when she hears the bedroom door open thinking I am heading to the kitchen !

Hey, I tell her, I'm going to the bathroom this time. Those big brown eyes look so disappointed it almost makes me feel guilty that I am not going to snack at times, until sometimes I break down and go to the pantry !:o I can't believe I did that I will tell myself latter. Dog, you are not helping my cause as I speak to a smiling mutt who tots back to her bed. The next night I say will be different.

OK, I recognize I am the one who controls the food here, not my dog. I am the master, aren't I ? Well, for a while there I wasn't sure as night time eating slowly crept back into my routine. Ever have one of those set backs ? I had to get rid of that one real quick or bad habits would soon reappear, or get established. So off to the Beck cards I went for some moral encouragement. I even got some paper and wrote on the pantry, " Does it taste as good as it feels around the waist ? " When I begin to feel my weight, it motivates me to stop eating. That always works with me.

The dog, well, she is staying on the couch and not getting up now. I guess she is learning. Smart dog !:heart1:

Oh my! I didn't know a dog could be an enabler! Cute story, albeit a serious one for you. Does your dog need a CK account too? [IMG]http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/108.gif[IMG]
