Sunday, Jan 3 2010 - starting first week in new year and feels like I'm a neewbe

Like I said, I would be joining the group again at the New Year. I took my sabbatical for personal reasons, and now I am back. Last year I did all right till Feb. when my world crashed in around me. I gradually caved into emotional stress, physical depression, and spiritual temptation and gained around 12 pounds. NOT GOOD ! I was unable to exercise for about four months then made excuses for the rest of the year. Now, I will have to pay the piper for my inactivity in more ways than one.
The good news is, I have joined a good healthy support group called First Place for Health that focuses in on accountability an encouragement. I like their approach better than WW because they incorporate a Bible study related to food issues. Yea, now we are talk. This is right up my alley now. I think I have found a group of people I can really relate to and it won't cost me an arm and a leg too.
So, I start this year out with at least 25 pounds to get off. I will see where to go after I lose those 25. Tech. I am 30-40 pounds over weight, but I'm not 20 years old either anymore. 30 pounds would put me just under my correct BMI goal. That really is my goal, to get to my correct BMI range and be able to maintain it. I never had this motivation two years ago, because I never believed I could do it. Nor did I want to do it. But after I spent this year slipping, I realized how important it is to set goals for yourself in order to keep the weight off. No goals, the weight doesn't come off or stay off. Whether it is running a 3k or getting those final pounds off, if you have a weight issue, you need the motivation. That's what I learned tonight in my meeting.

I love this prayer I read from a Beth Moore card, and I will end my blog with this :
"Lord God, help me to feed the Spirit, not the flesh ! Changing the way I think will change the way I fill !

...whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is admirable- if anything is praiseworthy-help me to make the choice to think about such things. ( Phil. 4:8 )

I am so glad you are back, I have missed you!! We totally need to find out who left the freezer door open cause I am tired of it!! The cookbook that I bought is the Hungry Girl 200 recipes under 200 calories. I have only tried the pancake recipe but it was simple and good.

I love the scriptures you added at the end......couldn't end better.

I am a newbie to this program but have been through a lot of the same things as you have, as far as having your world crash down, spiritual temptation etc.....I have also been making excuses not to exercise....mainly Im lazy and have no motivation....until now. I commend you on your strength of character and spiritual strength that has brought you to this point. You are doing AWESOME! So keep it up and remember: With God, ALL things are possible:wave1:
