Tuesday, Jan 5 2010 - GETTING BACK INTO IT
View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. It helps to have my husband equally interested this time out. When I started three years ago he was supportive but not involved. Now he wants to take his healthy lunch and actually hates it or is disappointed when I don't have one made for him in the morn. Instead of eating at church on Thursday nights, he wants to eat dinner at home and miss the fellowship time so we can eat our " healthy " dinner, then go to the regular church meeting. He made mention that he is paying for a gym membership for me so that I can do my PT and that I NEED to get with it after hearing what the doctor said to me today !!! Yes, I am delighted to begin to see an attitude change in him. This will help me. He saw me degress last year and realized my attitude wasn't up where it had been and neither had his.
The main reason is we had gotten away from what worked for us. We let our new commitments change our habits. I gave in to the pressures disappointments and tried comfort myself with food again. I am now learning to sooth myself by other means than food. A good book and a hot cup of tea cuddled up with my dogs at night. A long talk with my husband on the love seat in the evening with the TV turned off before he turns in for the night, if I can get him to corporate, is doing the job. That planned evening low carb snack is helping too. This was three years in the making. I hope I learn more ways to cope and change my ways in the future. It is what it is going to take.

My husband got a cookie tummy thanks to all the Christmas yummies so he's cutting back. Now that he's unemployed he's cooking healthy meals at night for us a few nights a week. I love it!

Having a husband interested in getting healthier will definitely make the whole process and lifestyle change easier. In case you didn't see it, a yogurt bomba is explained here: http://rhodeygirltests.com/2009/12/22/the-trifecta-oikos-pom-kashi/
