View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

UGH, 7 DAYS TILL SURGERY ! I'm not looking forward to this, but am looking forward to having less pain and maybe no pain when the shoulder heals. I'm hoping I get more movement back and the shoulder impingement was more of an issue than the frozen issue was. ( ortho terms here ) Anyway, with a little luck, I will have more movement and no pain when all is done.

I talked to the leader of our Turning Point ministry at church about starting a First Place 4 Health class at our church. This is a weight loss bible study program. For information on it look it up at First Place 4 Health.org. It's a great program that really has helped me. I will be heading up getting this class started up. Wow, I'm excited about this program because it just doesn't emphasize weight loss, but helps with the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of healthy living. We won't judge success just by how many pounds we lose, but but how we grow as people in the Lord. Our victories can be measured by things like, did you resist temptation, did you write down and plan your food for the week, did you exercise every day that week ? How did you cope when you wanted to eat or over eat ? These are some times more important than winning at the scale each week. These victories will eventually lead to those victories though.

This is why I love this 4 sided approach. This is what is helping me to come out of burn diet burn out and relapse. I now know that I can take each little victory and add them up to a giant victory at the scale eventually. So, I'm working on these little things. Tonight, I succeeded in not eating a snack when out of calories when my husband ate his night time snack. Moral victory there. Just one little thing that some day will add up. Now, when these get added up over time, they produce a habit change. Chilllllsssssss I'm getting out right excited now. Good night all.

I happened to read just this blog and found it very encouraging. I like what you said about the First Place 4 Health program. I would like to look into it.
My weight loss is not going well right now. I need God's help and any encouragement along the way. Thanks.

I think it is great that you are going to be leading the group -- you have definitely learned a lot on your journey -- about yourself and about that four pronged issue!! Is it better for you to just NOT have the snack, or would it be more comfortable for you to save the calories for the snack to share with your husband...? Some would say that the emotional/spiritual reward on that end would be worth a little extra sacrifice during the day. I have found for me it is better to budget in the end of day snack than to try so hard to avoid it...that is why I ask.
