MOUGHI's CalorieKing blog

Saturday, Aug 14 2010 - Scary. and how long have we been married ?

View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

My husband and I were on our way to our FP4H class this morning and planning the rest of the days activities. Ok, so after we get weighed in and have our meeting let's go to Best buy. No argument from the man on that one, so I thought to myself, and maybe buy some speakers for the new compu...ANd then my hubby said, " and maybe we could look for some speakers for the new computer, " Scary, I thought. How long have we been married ! It's one thing to complete sentences, but now thoughts !

I made it outside early today to get a walk in before it got too hot. It was just a quick 24 min spin with the little dog, but it felt good. I could have gone faster, but the dog had to go her stuff:cross2: I still have my arm and shoulder exercises to do before I go to bed tonight which I will do after I blog.

I fed my dog a new dog food tonight, called Lory's sweet potato tofu special. I looked up on a web site different formulas for dogs with allergies. It showed how to mix proteins, carbs, and other stuff to make meals for animals with special needs. I couldn't get into the actual recipe because I was on my mac, but I used the ingredients and kind of figured it out. Here's what I cooked : Smashed baked sweet potato, frozen petite peas, fresh shredded carrots, medium soft tofu, mushroom and vegetable boullion, canola oil, water, a little roast beef seasoning or some kind of seasoning. Also, I would have used organic veg. broth if I had had it instead of the bouillon sautéed the veggies, soaked the tofu in the boullion base then added it the veggies, added some water. Added the mashed potatoes and heated everything up. I then took a potato masher and made sure everything was crumbled up into my dog's size. I separated the food into portions. Now for the test.

I asked my big dog to try it. No problem, She will eat anything. I asked my husband to try it. He had a problem with anything that was linked to the word " dog food " even if it was made from human food . I thought how strange. Come to think of it, dogs ate
" Human food " when they were in the wild ". It was only when we domesticated them that they started to eat kibbles and bits ! Now, I put it to the test. I put it down to the pickest dog I ever met. At fisrt she turned her nose up at it until I ate some of it. Then she tried some. Then gobble-gobble, I have found something she might eat that she might not be allergic to. We will try this special diet for a month and see if her skin clears up or until I get too tired of cooking. I want to see if this dish freezes well. I don't know if tofu freezes well. The things we do for love.:love::love:

how sweet you guys are so close he knows what you are thinking. I had to make one of my kiddos boiled chicken and rice for awhile after a nasty stomach bug. They thought that was freaking awesome.

How did it taste?

I think my MOM has the pickiest dog ever -- but she has made him that way. How cool that you've found something to help her out though. I have never tried to freeze tofu. I have wondered before though whether you could!
