I'm glad I have a place to blog more than a sentence or two. Tonight it is about my favorite baseball team which finally made it to the playoffs after ten years of trying. Yep, the Rangers last appearance in a play off was 11 years ago. The year I moved to Houston. I remember that year. It was my last year living in the metroplex and the last time I got to a Ranger game. Since then, baseball has not been the same for me as I have not been able to get into the Astro's or National League. Tonight is a stroll back to some good memories. It's also something my younger brother and I share with a passion. Both of us grew up sharing this common interest that united us no matter what in life we were going through, baseball, specially, our Rangers. Tonight as we called and talked to each other during the 7th inning stretch there was this joy of returning to our youth and participating in those shared moments together.
The neat thing now about this is, I also don't need a bowl food of food to enjoy this moment like I would have in the past. No hot dogs, Dr. Pepper ( some people would drink beer ), or popcorn. I am perfectly content with my one little snack that I planned on and diet Dr. Pepper. I have learned to enjoy events like these without the celebration of food to go along with them. You know, that part of the National past time that really puts pressure on people like me to eat and eat and eat. Learning that I don't need to do this has been something these past ten years that I am proud to say I am accomplishing. The last time I watched a playoff game I was eating non stop too. At least that is one memory I don't want to remember.
