View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day
My shoes will be ready next week. I went to the fitting last week and was really surprised that they weren't horrible ugly. I expected them to look like the shoes that were shown me that were made for a client of theirs that did very little walking and weighed a lot. I asked for them to take out the steel shank in the sole so the last would be flexible and feel more like a running or walking shoe and not an orthopedic shoe. I also asked for them to cut the shoe below my ankle bone and and try to get my heal tighter. Not having the steel in the sole felt great and they did a good job giving me a slight rocker base so foot will role heel to toe when I walk. They also put in a soft medial arch to prevent pronation and raised the right side to accommodate my right side being shorter. Everything felt pretty good including the width when I left. I'm actually looking forward to the final product. The last company I tried to get to make me shoes failed horribly at making me shoes and never returned my money and I never got that pair of shoes.
So, I feel more comfortable with the company I am going with now, especially since I have tried on the shows last week and the company is readjusting the shows as I write this. Now for the over all looks. They look like dress shoes and feel a little like dress shoes, but walk similar to walking shoes. They are a little on the heavy side compared to running shoes, but I should be able to walk 2 miles without getting too tired. They are taller than the average shoe which makes them look a little different, but they had to be to fit my pigeon toes, wide foot, and orthotics and square feet. I WISH THEY WERE WATER PROOF BUT THAY WON'T BE ! The last thing I will say is they will be the second pair of shoes I have had in my life that have fit my feet. Hopefully, they will be as comfortable as that Drew pair I had a few years ago. That's when I was able to exercise without a lot of pain and really enjoyed it. That's my prayer.

I hope the shoes work out great for you! Can you put a water proof spray on them?
