13 minute walking mile

This is a mile stone for shorty here. I walked my two miles without the dogs here today and times myself. I managed to walk my two miles in 27 minutes. I did it at the mall yesterday and thought something was wrong with my watch too. That's two days in a roll so it must be true. Two years ago I was doing a 20 minute mile and it was taking me 45 minutes to cover two miles. Then I got down to a 17 minute mile with the dog. I guess my next goal is to increase this to three miles now.

walking the mall

Since my gym membership is not going to be renewed due to finances and i haven't paid my home owner fees yet, I couldn't go to the club gym yet. This left me one option only on this cold day if I wanted to get in a long walk, the mall. So, I got in my car and went to the mall. My brother in law used to love to walk the mall when he was alive more than the treadmill. It wasn't too bad until I went by the pretzel place, but having my music blaring in my ears helped distract me. I covered two miles...

I read a fact today that got me to thinking. 66 % of people who lose weight will regain their weight within a year, and almost all the weight is regained within five years. That means only 44% keep that weight off five years or longer ! I have managed to keep 80 of my 90 pounds off for three years...and I'm still trying to get the last 30 off. That includes that 10 I put back on. This has led me set a realistic goal. I want to have at least 20 pounds off in two years and keep it off fro five. Th...

learning ways to talley

I am learning other ways to keep track of my food besides using the CK dairy. I still use the food Dairy in order to occasionally check up on my food exchanges to make sure I am staying close to my calorie level. But, I have gone to an exchange method with standard weighing and measuring i order to keep up with portion control. This way I don't have to spend 20 minutes a day on the computer typing in everyday what I eat. I can check every three days or so my food levels instead to make sure I a...

stalemate

I goofed up this week and broke even because of self sabotage, but I'm doing better this week. I'm not beating myself over the head with it which is a good thing. In the past I would have.
