I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. It helps to have my husband equally interested this time out. When I started three years ago he was supportive but not involved. Now he wants to take his healthy lunch and actually hates it or is disappointed when I don't have one made for him in the morn. Instead of eating at church on Thursday nights, he wants to eat dinner at home and miss the fellowship time so we can eat our " healthy " dinner, then go to the regular church meeting...Sunday, January 3rd 2010
Like I said, I would be joining the group again at the New Year. I took my sabbatical for personal reasons, and now I am back. Last year I did all right till Feb. when my world crashed in around me. I gradually caved into emotional stress, physical depression, and spiritual temptation and gained around 12 pounds. NOT GOOD ! I was unable to exercise for about four months then made excuses for the rest of the year. Now, I will have to pay the piper for my inactivity in more ways than one.Monday, November 2nd 2009
Halloween has come and gone and I had my yearly battle with the candy monster. The monster won the battle which makes me more determined to give up sugar all together. I really do believe now my body can't handle sugar in any form, and that's not just because I'm a diabetic. Sugar just sets me off. I will break my diet if I even taste a sweet. This may include artificial sweeteners as well. So, I am going to try an experiment and go off the sugar first, the the sweeteners and see what happens. I...Friday, October 30th 2009
I just got back from San Fransisco and my brother's wedding. It was fun and I had a few observation about the city and how it compares to Houston. My daughter and I immediately noticed everyone walks, rides bikes even drives scooters or motorcycles, and takes taxis,shuttles, and trolleys. Therefore, when the light turns green and the pedestrians start to cross, you had better get a move on. Where as here in Houston someone walking is so rare a driver is shocked into stopping.
