Oops

Wednesday, January 7th 2009

I had a great work out yesterday than blew it with a terrible binge at night. I biked for thirty minutes getting in ten miles which was the best I have ever done. The I did two miles on the treadmill at 3.2 speed, the best I have ever done. This was fantastic. So why did I blow it that night ? If I knew the answer to that question I probably would have been back on my diet by now effectively losing weight by now. Now since I have figured out I can exercise, I am going to have to dig deep within ...

recipe correction

Tuesday, January 6th 2009

I made a recipe correction after PTP pointed out to me that Worcestershire sauce is not a vegetarian product. I substituted Aji-Mirin sweet cooking wine in it's place. You can look at yesterday's blog for the Sloopy Joe recipe if you missed it.

This weekend I tried Joey's Veg...

Since this is a new year I thought I would take a little inventory of what I have learned this year about dieting and myself. This year I learned it is hard to get over that mental slump that comes from being on a diet when you have to be on one for over 18 months when you have a large amount of weight to lose. It has been tough for me to maintain my motivation to keep losing verses staying where I am. This then will be my biggest challenge of the new year, to go forward with the diet and make ...

A good Christmas

Saturday, December 27th 2008

It was a Good Christmas. I managed to feed my family a relatively healthy meal. We had steak, roasted potatoes, grilled brocolini, which my future sister in law and brother had never heard of, rolls, and a diabetic sugar free yogurt pie made from cool whip, jello, and sugar free yogurt. I gave them fresh veggies, fruit, and humus to snack on before the main meal. No one seemed to mind that there weren't the regular loads of desserts hanging around, although I had made for my brother a box of c...
