View MSTEECHUR's food & exercise for this day
Wow...it's week fourteen. Where is the time going? Spring is here which means that being out in the gorgeous weather brings special joy to my running. I Love running underneath the cherry blossoms and looking up into the pinkiness or the whiteness and just inhaling the scent and the sight!
One of the benefits of getting out running every day is that often I get to run with Roy. Now he's not always the most enthusiastic runner, and on long runs he accompanies me on a bike. It just means so much to me to have that support. Plus when we're out on a run we get the best talks in! We can really work things out; whether it's weekend plans, or an issue with work. That time is so meaninfgul to me.
Plus I have to say, I love our weekend Starbucks runs. We live 2.5 miles from Starbucks. (Well, we live three blocks from a Starbucks, but we don't go to that one.) We grab two breakfast cookies and we run down. We put in our standing order of a Grande Drip (for me), Venti Refresh Tea (for him), and a Seattle Times. We share the paper and read and eat our cookies and visit with our neighbors. I love it.
So that's one more reason that I do this! It not only gives me some quality time with Roy, but it helps to ensure that we'll have many many more years of quality time together because we are both taking care of our health.
Endurance Athlete Sunday!
* Exercise: Ran 13.16 miles in the Mercer Island Rotary Half Marathon! Came in with my BEST time ever; 2:07 (according to them, I had 2:03 but that's okay...they're probably more accurate), also did 700 crunches
* Calories eated: 2793
* Calories burned in exercise: 1395
* Percentage of calories from fat: 21%
* Percentage of calories from carbohydrates: 65%
* Percentage of calories from protein: 13%
* Points for day: 46
* Today's Meaningful Moment: I got to high five a little girl about 2 years old on the route. That was awesome. The weather was beautiful...but the MOST meaningful moment, was coming around the corner of mile 13 heading towards the finish line and seeing my honey holding a sign that said "Run Tory Run! You're almost there!" He's so awesome!
Roy ran an 8k, so he ran too...and then went and made a sign!
Monday is Funday
* Exercise: Ran 4.5 miles because it was so beautiful out that I just headed out and ran ran ran! Also did 30 min aerobics, 30 min weights, and 700 crunches.
* Calories eated: 1962
* Calories burned in exercise: 968
* Percentage of calories from fat: 11%
* Percentage of calories from carbohydrates: 72%
* Percentage of calories from protein: 17%
* Points for day: 24.5 (isn't it odd how 24.5 points = almost 2000 calories, but other days it'll only equal about 1500? Yeah.)
* Today's Meaningful Moment: I just decided to go on my run alone and take a new route. It happened to go past my in-laws' house and my mother-in-law was out getting the mail. It was nice to literally "run into" her. I don't feel we see her enough, so I'm glad we got to stop and chat in the beautiful afternoon sun!
Tuesday NO Bluesday
* Exercise: Spin class 45 minutes. We had a sub instructor and she ended early for some reason. Ran 1.6 miles. Dance class 45 minutes.
* Calories eated: 1745
* Calories burned in exercise: 791
* Percentage of calories from fat: 15%
* Percentage of calories from carbohydrates: 73%
* Percentage of calories from protein: 11% (I don't think I ate any meat today at all...I wasn't feeling well at all, which is why the run was so short. I ended up having a banana and cereal for dinner and then a granola bar before bed. It was all I was in the mood for.
* Points for day: 26 (see what I'm saying? Yesterday was way more calories, but less points...interesting)
* Today's Meaningful Moment: I had my first mammogram today. While getting your boob squished isn't exactly "meaningful" it did give me pause to reflect on some friends who have dealt with breast cancer.
Cora, I miss you. You were such a fun friend and awesome teacher.
Francy I am so thrilled that you're cancer free!
Marina: God bless you that you're done with your chemo and radiation! Here's to remission and being just an amazing woman.
Marina is so cool...while a lot of people I know use just about any excuse to get out of exercise, Marina was in my aerobics class every single MWF through her chemo and radiation. She has told me a number of times what a motivation I am. Yeah, right. She is amazing.
Debbie: We all miss you.
Wiki Wiki Wednesday
*Exercise: Denise Austin workout, which made me want to shoot myself...Ran 5 miles, lifted weights half an hour, 700 crunches.

*Calories burned in exercise: 864
*Percentage of calories from fat: 15%
* Percentage of calories from carbohydrates: 73%
*Percentage of calories from protein: 12%
* Points for day: 26
*Today's Meaningful Moment: I signed up for the Salt Lake City Marathon today! I am so proud of myself that I do this. I know, pride goeth before a fall...but it isn't "I'm invincible, I'm too cool" pride. It's more "You are not just talking the talk, you're walking the walk" pride. I know that this race may suck, I may not finish, I might be last...but I'll do it anyhow and just be thankful the entire way that I have been blessed with a body that allows me to do these things!
