View MSTEECHUR's food & exercise for this day
I am feeling really good today! I feel like, at times, the healing is slow but I do know why. I think the part that is getting me the most is the lack of energy. Yesterday, though, I went out for a 1.75 mile walk, then we went to Costco, Target, and Best Buy. I got some yoga pants to wear to work next week. The hematoma is shrinking, but I still can't fit my pants. I have a pair of overalls, one pair of yoga pants, and a pair of really low riding pants with a tie that I can fit. That's it! LOL!
But after the trip, I was so beat. I slept for three hours!
I've been keeping up on my walking every day. I haven't met my goal of going further or faster each day because I've had a few days where I haven't felt great. I felt listening to my body was more important.
One thing I haven't done is accomplish anything! I figured that being off for three weeks, I'd be so bored I'd want to do something. I tried crocheting and managed to make something that looks like an appendix. I brought home books to learn Linux, never even installed it. I just haven't felt up to it until now and now I'm going back to work. Pfft. I have watched movies and played games and slept a lot, though.
I go back to work next week. Kids will be back on Monday, but the doctor felt that was too soon, so I think I'll be back Thursday. I still have a drainage tube in so hopefully that will come out Wednesday so I don't have to take that with me. It's kinda gross. But it's doing its job drawing off the drainage from the hematoma, so hopefully I'll be much less swollen by the time I get back!
Food wise, I've managed very well. I'm eating a net of about 1200-1500 calories a day. Since I'm so sedentary, I'm not concerned with going under 1500. I've actually lost weight, which makes me happy. I so did NOT want to come out of this with weight to lose!
I don't even think I've lost too much fitness. Walking every day is helping that. I'm sure getting back to running will pose some challenges, but I hope that within four weeks I'll be back where I was pre-surgery.
Oh and in VERY exciting news, I have registered for a course to become a personal trainer! It starts on January 19!

I meant if you decide to do personal training over the internet, such as, give folks routines, etc... I didn't make myself very clear!
