...make me BLUSH! Thank you SO much for all the kudos on my test yesterday! It just feels great to have it over and I feel awesome about it. Even if, somehow, I don't pass I feel good about what I learned and that it gave me some directions of ways I can go from here.

So here's my five year plan...

I was out running last Summer and I thought, "Man, I would love to be able to incorporate what I love about fitness and training into what I love about my career." Don't get me wrong, I love teaching so I don't want to leave it. But I also want to always stay open to new opportunities. So I started thinking, "I need a five year plan."

So here it is...I would like to have the latitude to go down to teaching half time, possibly moving from teaching high school level to teaching college level. I would like to develop into a personal trainer who works with two types of people; people who are interested in losing weight in a healthy way and incorporating fitness into their lives, and people who are interesting in starting a running program and training for races of any level.

So some goals I need to reach to do this:

1. I have a degree in Health Education, but obviously I need to update my knowledge to incorporate current understanding of how the body works. Ongoing.
2. Get my personal trainer certification (hopefully almost done with this).
3. Complete an internship (Once I get the certificate, I will apply at my local Y.)
4. Pursue training in nutrition and coaching runners. (Ongoing.)
5. Develop a business model that will be dynamic and will allow me to start where I am (working full time) and move into my goal.
6. Keep my eyes open for opportunities related to teaching that will allow me to move towards teaching college. (I already have a Masters degree, and teach college level courses in an advanced high school program.)

Obviously this is flex and will move and change with the times. I am just loving the new direction, though. I feel it's realistic, yet even if I never did reach what my goal is TODAY, I have only benefited from taking the course I did.

===================

Ran 14 miles today with a friend from the UK. We had a great time. Plan was to run 12 miles, but we got talking and didn't turn around until 6.5 miles. Then I um...led us off in the wrong direction. Realized it .5 mile out. So "new plan" 14 miles! It was her longest run yet (next longest was 13, so it's all good). I introduced her to the magic of interval training. I love intervals!

Pace was an 11:08, not bad for her coming off plantar fasciitis, and me surgery 9 weeks ago! She was amazed at how fast I came back after surgery. It sure hasn't FELT fast! LOL! But I am finally to the point where I feel almost normal!!

Callie: HAhahahahah! Fast ears! Yup, when I get excited about something I run 100000 miles an hour!

The 5 year plan sounds awesome. I have no doubt that you'll succeed -- somehow, I'm guessing there's very little you put your mind to that you don't achieve. :wink2:

Tori - I am out of the loop (I've been bad on blogs) have you had your national TV appearance yet? I've been looking for it and I'm afraid I may have missed it.
