I wrote this yesterday, but it didn't post here. Hmmm. Anyhow...yesterday was interesting!

Today was really interesting. I did the teaching thing, of course. A car (Cadillac Escalade) came to pick me up at 2:00 on the dot and drove me to Seattle. I arrived a bit early to KING TV. Picked up the phone and told the receptionist I had a meeting with Bob Kennedy. The buzzed me in. Sat in the lobby for a few minutes until Bob came to get me.

We walked through the newsroom and it looked like a real newsroom...a maze of desks and phones and people all talking at the same time. I got to stand and peek into the production booth for a minute while Bob went to get something. Saw some of the local news-lebrities.

Bob took me to this tiny little booth and set up the recording equipment. He said, "Well you've probably done this before" and walked out.

Um...wait! No! I haven't! (I wonder why he thought I'd done it before?)

So he came back and told me what to do and then left. "When you're done just come on out and get me."

Uh, okay.

So I put on the headphones and got out the essay I wrote. I stood there for two full minutes waiting to be cued or something, and finally figured "Okay, just go."

I tried to read it as naturally as possible, but about halfway through I felt like it sounded more like I was telling a story than talking to a friend. I figured at that point, I'd better just leave it at that, so kept on with the same tone. I had to start over about four times. I'd just stop and say "I'll do that again" then restart that paragraph.

I think it sounded pretty good! I did mention a family member, but I tried not to make it sound like "That horrible mother of mine made me feel fat all my life." I mean, she did...but well... This isn't a "make my mother feel like crap" thing. At the same time I wanted to be honest because it was her actions that got this thing started. I try to tell myself she meant well when she digitally altered my pictures to make me look less fat, but wow...it sure didn't FEEL very good at the time!

After I finished Bob showed me around the newsroom a bit more. It was really cool to be in a TV studio! I've run by it a number of times (Seattle Marathon, St. Paddy's Day Dash). It was REALLY interesting to see all the stuff going on. I also got a chance to talk with Bob a bit. His daughter is a 6th grade teacher, God bless her soul.

Headed back home in the Escalade! Made good time, too.

Also got our itinerary. We're getting in Sunday afternoon about 3:30. We're going to see Legally Blonde that night. Then Monday we leave at 7:20. Quick in, quick out, but awesomeness! I'm so glad they're paying for Roy too! Weight Watchers didn't. It'll be a short trip, but seriously...what a blessing. I feel so lucky.

After I picked up Roy I got my nails done and then picked up a really cute bustier, but damn it the cup says it's a B cup but I could invite over friends and neighbors! So I'm keeping it but looking at Target tomorrow to see if I can find something better that fits REAL women's boobs. I am still SO swollen from surgery, though, I need something to smooth my tummy. Man I wish I'd never gotten that surgery.

I ran with my friends this morning at 5. Holy DAMN! I haven't done ThoSE hills in a long time. The hills are alive with the sounds of Tory whimpering. I was literally SORE afterwards...not my legs, my ABS! Damn! My poor belly. Burned 613 calories in five miles because my HR was so high.

I think I'll do it again tomorrow. Ha!
