Okay WHY did I say on Tuesday, "I never get sick! I really think it's because of being outside so much. But I haven't had a cold in ages!"? Why? WHY did I tempt fate like that?
I am sick.
I have bronchitis.
The good news is, it doesn't last as long as it used to. But the bad news is, it sucks. I'm not necessarily NIGH unto death, but I am nigh unto nigh unto death.
This was a busy week and I just did NOT have time for it.
I've started co-coaching a "First 5k" program for women who are training for their first 5k. It's SO cool! We're having a blast. So every Tuesday night I coach the "fast" group. (Aka, I talk their little ears off until the run is over and they don't realize how far they've run.) One lady ran her first mile without stopping last Tuesday and I was SO tickled for her!
Wednesday I ran 22.6 miles with my dog. Poor guy slept so hard that night. But he did it! He's a trooper and my best running buddy! Had a few minor mishaps on the run (me, not him) and hit the wall at 15, but I climbed over it and finished.
Sick yesterday, and had to have middle school open house last night. Ugh. But my boys were so cute (four kids came to help). My voice is just shot, so any time they say me talking one would come over and wait for a break and just jump in so I could save my voice. They talked with all the kids who came in (all boys, now that I think about it, with parents). People would come over and say, "I hear you were on the Today Show. I hear you run marathons."
Uh guys, you're supposed to be talking about the CLASS, not me! Dorks.
Thought about calling in sick today but realized I'd just be sick there or I'd be sick here, and since I'm not contagious.
Roy's play (www.mrklem.com) is tonight. It's so good, but I so DO not want to sit on hard auditorium seats for three hours. But he goes to absolutely EVERYTHING I do, so I can't NOT go.
Tomorrow is a 55 mile ride. I'm going to go on my own on a flat trail, since our planned ride is quite hilly. I am so clogged up that it would be too challenging to huff and puff up those hills. I had to stop and walk quite a bit on my run today. So my coach suggested a flatter route and I jumped at that idea.
Now I must get my food ready for tomorrow and my butt into some clothing for tonight.

Get better soon Tory! Funny you should mention the women's group - my running club has one too and I was jealous to find out it was for beginning runnings who've never run a 5K - it sounded like so much fun. Oh, yeah, I joined a running club. I plan on going to thier long runs for marathon training and speedwork drills evey Wednesday - I'm very excited!
=D I'm a dork. Have fun on the bike ride!!
