Marathon Weekend

Friday, May 23rd 2008

Sunday is going to be marathon number ten. I'm totally nervous because I am me. And if I am me, I am nervous about my marathon. My knees hurt. Why? Because I have a marathon Sunday. The one thing I am truly concerned about is that I am STILL having belly pain over five months after my surgery! I hope it won't bother me on my run. I'm not sure what I could do about it otherwise.

So tomorrow we're driving to Coeur d'Alene Idaho and picking up my race packet. Roy wants to go to Silverwood tom...

Back to the rain

Wednesday, May 21st 2008

Dang! Sunday was SO nice! We went to the Beat the Bridge 8k where I not only beat the bridge (the Montlake bridge goes up 20 minutes after the race starts and you have to be on the OTHER side of it in order to officially "beat" it), but I beat my personal best on this race. Wow, I am literally "can't keep my eyes open" tired. I think it's the heat but I am NOT complaining!

Had a marvy day, heading to Roy's parents' house in a bit for a family BBQ that was planned two days ago. Grrrr. I haven't seen the New Baby (tm) yet because I've been sick since the day she was born. I hear Karla (Roy's s...

Saturday, May 10th 2008

Today was training with Team FAST (my tri training team) but I have bronchitis. So I asked my coach, Cheryl, about the route and explained I'm on day three of bronchitis so a hilly route might be too challenging for me. If I can keep my HR relatively low (140 or lower) I am fine, but if I start having to breathe heavily I cough so I wanted to go flat. She suggested it might make more sense to just do the trail as the course was challenging.

So I asked Lisa (my friend) if she wanted to ride...

Cof Hack

Friday, May 9th 2008

Okay WHY did I say on Tuesday, "I never get sick! I really think it's because of being outside so much. But I haven't had a cold in ages!"? Why? WHY did I tempt fate like that?

I am sick.

I have bronchitis.

The good news is, it doesn't last as long as it used to. But the bad news is, it sucks. I'm not necessarily NIGH unto death, but I am nigh unto nigh unto death.

This was a busy week and I just did NOT have time for it.

I've started co-coaching a "First...
