Sunday is going to be marathon number ten. I'm totally nervous because I am me. And if I am me, I am nervous about my marathon. My knees hurt. Why? Because I have a marathon Sunday. The one thing I am truly concerned about is that I am STILL having belly pain over five months after my surgery! I hope it won't bother me on my run. I'm not sure what I could do about it otherwise.Wednesday, May 21st 2008
Dang! Sunday was SO nice! We went to the Beat the Bridge 8k where I not only beat the bridge (the Montlake bridge goes up 20 minutes after the race starts and you have to be on the OTHER side of it in order to officially "beat" it), but I beat my personal best on this race. I ran it in 41:48 with an average 8:24 minute mile! That, for me, is not just good...that is "Stop the Presses!!" great! So I was QUITE excited about that.

Today was training with Team FAST (my tri training team) but I have bronchitis. So I asked my coach, Cheryl, about the route and explained I'm on day three of bronchitis so a hilly route might be too challenging for me. If I can keep my HR relatively low (140 or lower) I am fine, but if I start having to breathe heavily I cough so I wanted to go flat. She suggested it might make more sense to just do the trail as the course was challenging.Friday, May 9th 2008
Okay WHY did I say on Tuesday, "I never get sick! I really think it's because of being outside so much. But I haven't had a cold in ages!"? Why? WHY did I tempt fate like that?
