First off...this is a BLOG. I am free to write down my feelings. If one does not like them, one is free not to read them. Most people don't read my blog anyhow, LOL!

I get very frustrated every time there is even the most insignificant change on this site. Not because I am adverse to change, but because it just looses the whine hounds! OMG, you would think, that for $55 a year (which comes out to 15c per day) CK owes us the world on a platter!

I don't LIKE the way the Today page looks!

I don't like the color scheme!
And?

I want XYZ back!
Valid, I suppose, if the thing was truly gone. Most of the time it's just moved.

The interface confuses me!
Usually posted the very day the change is made. Give it time, play around with it, and then decide. I know I'm pretty computer literate (it is what I teach) so I try not to be judgmental about that kind of stuff...but really, give it TIME!

I use Joe's Hairy Browser and it doesn't work in there!
I'm sure that like most sites, it is optimized for the browsers used most often. I use Firefox, IE, Flock, Safari, and Chrome. I don't for a MOMENT believe CK will automatically work perfectly in all of those. I expect it to work perfectly in IE, though.

I actually saw someone post one day that they weren't having problems with something, but weren't going to renew because "so many others were." Huh? So you're going to NOT use a system that works for you because a handful of people are having problems. Do Not Get.

A lot of times browser problems are the user's problem, not the site's problem. I know I have a client who says she can't read messages on my site and can't see the newsletter. I've logged in as her and I can see messages fine, and I get the newsletter and it works on my computer fine. So I have to believe it's her computer. Sadly as much as I'd like to provide that tech support, I can't. She lives nowhere near me, and tech support doesn't extend to fixing a home computer. She's nice about it, but honestly she needs someone to look at her system. It can't be my site because it works on every OS I've tried it on (and that's many) and every browser.

So rather than be snarky on the boards (which I can be...lets face it...I don't always mean to be, but I can come across that way), I'm just blogging about it. I don't want to offend anyone.

My take on the new setup? I don't really dig the look of the Today page, although I do like some of the information. The community setup actually makes more sense to me than the old way, for some reason.
