My legs hate me

Sunday, April 6th 2008

Yesterday was my second training ride with my Triathlon Training Group. We rode 38.5 miles (it was supposed to be 40, but a mile and a half must have fallen out somewhere) around Lake Washington to Renton and back to Seattle. It was a beautiful ride. A bit chilly, but we didn't get any rain. After the ride we transitioned into a 20 minute run. I actually felt pretty good after the entire thing! I was surprised.

So after yesterday's ride and short brick run, my legs were feeling pretty good....

What are we Doing to our Children?

Thursday, April 3rd 2008

I was at the Y yesterday and as I walked in I noticed a dozen or so people standing outside in various groups talking, walking in, walking out. Of them every single one was from overweight to obese. The sad part, they were ALL children. It is encouraging that they were at the YMCA, but how sad.

Rainy run!

Thursday, March 13th 2008

Ugh! Met Lisa LATE today to run in the rain. I got SO lost because I clicked the map link on the park page (the park where I was going to meet her) and they put in 131st Ave and it's really on 131st Street. Um...totally different location, KIDS! So we had a shorter run than planned. I thought about continuing on to do a total of seven, but yesterday was supposed to only be four and I did six. I'll do six tomorrow and make up the two miles Sunday with at least ten. I hate to do long runs of less ...

Busy Life!

Tuesday, March 11th 2008

I swear, since coming home from New York I have been SO busy it isn't even funny!

Tuesday night (after getting home) I had Open House at work, so I had to work until 9 p.m. Then Wednesday I just tried to recouperate. This weekend I had a 30 mile bike ride/3 mile brick on Saturday, which was really nice. A brick is a bike/run or swim/bike or swim/bike/run workout that helps prepare you for a triathlon.

Sunday was a half marathon. It went very well for my first one back since surgery. I...
