Sunday, Jan 24 2010 - Game day Game plan...

View NEXUSNRG's food & exercise for this day

Today the New Orleans Saints should go down in history! I expect them to win and finally go into their first Super bowl ever. I feel 43 years is long enough to wait for it. With all of the hoopla going on here in WHO DAT NATION the celebration level is very high. I can not sit idly by and watch this game tonight without enjoying some game-day food.

I just had a really awesome salad, that was topped with 8 large seared shrimp in olive oil and garlic. On the salad I used wish bone's vinaigrette spritzer which only contained 15 calories, Salad had lettuce, onion, bell pepper cucumbers, and the shrimp. 92 calories total. I'm stuffed. Today during the game I'm going to enjoy a feast of fresh chicken wings & drumettes that have been seasoned and baked. I would LOVE to use ranch to dip them in but I'm not going to go that route, instead I'll just squirt honey mustard onto each piece. Bag says 9 pieces is 220 calories, and the seasoning might bring it up a couple of calories, so say 225 calories, and then a squirt of honey mustard on each one, probably equaling 4 tbsp of honey mustard which will be 20 calories. If I'm still hungry after that I have some 94% fat free turkey/beef hotdogs and I'll just splurge on a loaded hotdog.

This morning while at the grocery store to pick up the chicken drumettes I ended up spending about an hour in the store just walking around looking at labels on all sorts of things. One day when I have more time and money to spend on food I'm going to go back and start building up my pantry of food with things that are low in calorie and fat and start exploring other foods that will aid me in my weight loss. I saw many things I want to try out.

I lost another POUND today. After a 2 day stall the scale actually went down another pound. This will officially be the lowest weight I've been in over 2 years. 416 is the number. My goal was to be 415 by Monday, and I'm not sure if I can do it, but we'll see. If I don't make it that's fine as long as I continue in the same direction 'down.'

WHO DAT WHO DAT! WHO DAT SAY THEY GONNA BEAT THEM SAINTS!!!!

Hey Tara, lol, I'm already 415. I made that goal early Monday morning when I got up! :)

I was happy but didn't think a new post was worth it. My new goal is 411 (not sure I can pull off 5 lbs in 7 days so I'm aiming for 4) what I've been doing is making mental notes of what meals fill me up and what total calories they are. Then if I go try something else I already know what else I can eat that will fill me up. So far I haven't gone hungry, and kept within my calorie intake amount.

I'm sure I'll do some pre planning like deciding what I'm going to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and then put them all down way before I actually eat just to see how many I go under or over and then adjust.

Abby, that game ended around 11pm and I was so emotionally drained. I wasn't tired before the game but just sitting there on edge for 3 hours drained me. You're right, in the morning when I get off work and I'm sleepy and hungry I force myself to just go to sleep and not touch food. Passing out is a very solid diet technique.

Jimmy way to go on the pre planning!!! I know when I'm going out to my favorite pub I like to plan accordingly and eat very light in calories during the day so that I can get my favorite grilled chicken melt.

It's all about the being mentally prepared and it sounds like you are coming right along! I can't wait for you to say 415!!!!!

Thanks ABBY! Actually if you look at my diary you'll notice I was grossly under. I was so busy doing stuff yesterday that by the time I got to eat dinner, it was game time and all I had was the drumettes with honey mustard. I never got hungry again and passed out. I didn't wake up until this morning and here we are. So I didn't get my little green check but I'd rather be under calories than over. This place was a mad house.

I am completely sports ignorant, but the news this morning did did show them celebrating in New Orleans and that was fun to watch.

Good for you on pre-planning healthy food for the game!! And congrats on another 2 pounds (w00t!)

The fruit salad or the garden salad? If the fruit one yeah it was really good, it tied me over for about 4 hours. I just ate lunch. When I was at the store yesterday getting supplies for the football game I was walking through the produce section and saw fresh cantaloupes and then I saw mango, and just had to get some. I had the other stuff already.

I actually enjoy reading labels now. I get shocked at some of the itmes out there. But going to the store is an adventure.
