Just finished my second work out at the gym. First workout was on Friday the 9th of April, and all Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday I was pretty sore. Monday wasn't so bad but I still had a little soreness in the arms. My workout partner and the person who has the membership to the Gym was busy so we didn't work out on Monday which worked out better for me.

So we made plans for today (Tuesday 13th) as soon as he got off work. Yes I woke up at 5 AM to meet him as he was getting off work. Did an hour and a half working on various free weights, bench press, inclined bench press, dumbbells, barbell arm curls, and then worked on the Lat pull down, cable press downs, and Abdominal Crunch Strap. Then I rode the upright cycle for 1.5 miles. I'll have to pay more attention to the numbers because I wasn't paying attention while watching the TV screen.

All in all it was a good work out today, my left arm didn't go limp like the first day, I pretty much don't feel any more sore than I did before going into the gym this morning, yet I know I worked just as hard as last time. I did struggle a little more this time because of the soreness, but I feel good that I woke up and did it. Diary says I burned 648 calories from this workout. Don't know how accurate that is, but I'm going to log it as such and still try to keep my calories as close to my normal 1500 a day as I can.

Early this morning before going to the gym I made a PB&J Sandwich so I'd have some energy and it helped out. Then about 4 hours later when I made it home I made a 3 egg omelette but only had 2 yokes. Loaded with fresh veggies, onion, bell peppers, tomato, and a slice of fat free cheese. And finished it up with a slice of toast. Nice 350 calorie breakfast. And even after all that it says I have 1513 calories left for the day. I'll probably have a 450 calorie dinner, and then 430 calorie late snack (which is dinner time for me at work).

And I'm going back to the gym in the morning, as soon as we get off work we'll head over there and do it all over again. I'm going to try to get 3 days in a week. If I get to liking it enough I probably will get my own membership but will still wanna work out with him because the motivation and having him push me helps.

Just a quick note - it is important to eat protein following a workout with any kind of weights. Otherwise, you aren't getting the full benefit of the workout. Protein assists your muscles in rebuilding all those tiny little tears that happen when you work out.

This is so great you find someone to work out with. It really makes the difference. I ditto Tara - Very proud of what you are doing for improving your life! Doesn't it feel good! You are simply awesome.

Odd enough, I noticed today after waking up that my arms and shoulders aren't sore any longer. They were sore when I worked out yesterday morning, and after wards for a bit, but I went to bed, and since then nothing. I have full motion, no soreness. So in one hour I forge on to my 3rd day at the gym.

I was using CK for my calorie amount and sometimes it's way off. I know when I was going up and down the stairs for a workout CK said that I burned 650 calories and my heart rate monitor says I burned 240. Sometimes it's pretty close. I was walking and I walked for 30 min and my HRM said I burned 178 and the CK said 142... so who knows...lol

Kudos for your workouts!!! That is awesome!!! Your omelette sounds yummy.
