View NEXUSNRG's food & exercise for this day
Yesterday there was a battle between the lawn mower and a hidden tree stump. The tree stump won! I completely bent the crap outta the lawn mower blade. Hey at least I don't have to cut the grass now. Probably a good thing most of the yard was already done before that happened.
Back on my feet again, haven't been back to the gym though, and don't know when I will be going back. I keep thinking that I just may have to end up getting my own membership so I can go when the urge to go comes up. I'm managing between 372 and 375 right now this week. I think it's safe to say I'm officially out of the 380's since it's been over a week now since I left them.
Lately I've been feeling less than inspired with myself, but surprisingly I'm still plugging away at watching my calories each day and logging each day, but not much motivation beyond that. I can't complain much because honestly I never expected to last this long. I figured I would go back to drinking 44oz cokes all the time and eating fast food from the drive thru on a daily basis. None of that has happened and half of the year has already flown by.
I'm still waiting to hear from the foot specialist that my doctor was suppose to refer me to. They were suppose to call them to set up an appointment for me, but no one has called yet and it's been over a week now. I guess on Monday if I haven't heard anything I'll call and find out what the deal is.
*EDIT LATER THAT DAY*
You know Aliza (Paperbacknovel) posted in Tara's (Prncssgrl) blog and she mentioned something that just made me take notice of in my own struggle for weight loss. Since last year when I had been going to the doctor to get checked up they could never get the BP cuff to stay on my arm. The Velcro kept on coming undone as the tech would pump it with air. Talk about embarrassing!! The sad thing is they had to try to get my BP from the wrist because their largest cuff wouldn't work on me. That was really embarrassing.
Well last week when I went to the doctor to find out why I keep getting this pain in my foot the tech went to check my vitals, and it didn't even dawn on me that the cuff would work. I was going to tell her that she wouldn't be able to get the cuff to stay on my upper arm but before I could she just started pumping air, and then the most unusual thing happened. There was a slight bit of Velcro coming apart but then it stopped, yet she kept on pumping. THE CUFF WORKED! So I'm back to being able to use a normal adult large cuff again. This is something that has changed in me since I started CK 5 months ago.

The cuff worked!!!!!
Brother I call that a non scale victory right there! I think feeling less inspired at this point in the journey is pretty normal. This is sort of the fork in the road where we have to decide whether this is a forever type of thing. We've been at this for 6 months and while we've instilled some great habits we haven't been at this long enough to make them lifelong habits (at least I don't think so).
I think buying yourself that gym membership will help keep you going down the right path and eventually making a decision about that fork in the road. Seeing yourself get stronger is a great push to keep moving forward.
Love you Jimmy!

I have terrible feet, arthritis in my feet, heel spurs, hammer toes, better now that I have lost some weight. Also your own gym membership is something you will come to really, really enjoy. Give it a try!

Since I usually will eat the same thing for breakfast, lunch and snacks, I am in autopilot most days. Wahtever it takes to get me though, I guess, lol.
Hang in there, you will get through the slump you are in. Drs are notorious for forgetting things like referrals. I'd say follow up.

One time I had a battle with my mom's car and a tree stump. The tree stump won. My mom's car & gas line definitely lost. That was not a fun day talking to my mom. And you know what triggered it?
My sister and I wanted to go to Wendys. But when we got there, the drive-thru line was too big, so we tried to bypass the cars, but the drive wasn't big enough, and I had to negotiate a tree stump (bad negotiation on my part). Your story reminded me of that.
I'm also glad you're moving around again - I know what it's like to be sidelined by an injury. You're doing well and you keep putting smiles on everyone's face!

Motivation is a toughie! There are days I just think I can't do it but some how I find it deep down inside of me and push through. Sometimes it's good to take a break but the key is not to let the break get us off our path. Don't think about failure! You are in such a better place than you were 6 months ago and that is amazing! I hope you get to see the foot doc. soon, I had to go for my ankles and the problem wasn't my ankle it was my foot. So it will be worth the wait in the long run.
Stay strong! You can do this!

Glad to hear that you're up and moving! I think that its normal for our motivation to go through cycles. I've been figthing with it for a week now, but I think that I am on the up-swing again. So....stick with it! You're doing fantastic. Think of where you'll be in another 6 months!
:rolling1:
Also, if the tree stump was able to take out the lawn mower, its a good thing that no one was hurt!
