View NEXUSNRG's food & exercise for this day
Today I made it to a whole new low. 365 Lbs on the scale. That is a 4 lb drop from last week's 369 lbs which was my 10% goal mark. I am very excited over the nice drop, one which I've not seen since the first 2 or 3 months of CK.
365 is a whole new low for me. It isn't like I dropped down to it, then came back up and stalled and slowly came back down again. This has happened several times before, and I'm sure it'll continue to happen again. See the lowest weight I can recall was back when I was 17 or 18 years old and on my driver's license and military id card the weight was 250. Beyond that I can't ever recall what my weight was. That is until about 5 1/2 years ago at the suggestion of my then live-in girlfriend to get a scale and try to lose weight.
I had bought a scale and the weight was around 410 lbs. I slowly got it down to 385 lbs by walking, and then it stopped. I couldn't get the scale to drop down any lower. And then it started to go back up to 390 and 391. I got discouraged and gave up, stopped walking, stopped weighing myself, stopped caring.
Fast forward to 2008 and that scale wouldn't even register anymore. I had to get a new digital one that would weigh 450 lbs. And sure enough, I was peaking 450 lbs on the scale, and then it would go up to 455, and on some days it wouldn't register so I was obviously heavier than 455 lbs but have no way of knowing. It wasn't until 2009 I decided to do something about it. I went to a doctor to get checked out, and was given some pills for fluid retention, and that helped me lose some weight.
I didn't really do anything beyond that though. It wasn't until at the end of December 2009 when I gained all of the weight I loss from taking water pills that I was determined to make a change. Ever since January 18th I had my sights on 385. All I wanted to do was finally cross that threshold. I finally did it over a month ago. And now I'm ready to start focusing on 300. I figured by the time I was 300 lbs I would be light enough that my bones and legs and feet could take the pounding of running.
Leslie got me thinking about that 385 lbs mark today because she has had the same problem with a number, one she could never get past, but today she finally busted past that threshold, and hopefully she'll keep pushing further and further away from that number.
I'm enjoying my day off so far. My Dad and me went to the range and shot our shotgun a little and nice to know it still functions properly. Then we went over to Academy Sports to shop around and came back home. Heat index today was 109 degrees so we didn't stay outside too much.

Thanks for the info Leslie. Yeah I want to prevent doing any damage for my feet or ankles etc. So any type of real impact movement is out of the question for now. I figured by 300 lbs I would be light enough to start something, that was actually when I had decided I would take this lifestyle change to the next level and get serious about exercise. Until then I've just been letting the calorie control make me lose weight.
Although I get envious of people like you and Tara, seeing how everyone I started out with on here is now running and getting more seriously into regular routines. I feel a little left behind, but I just reminded myself of my plan. So as you said I won't sweat it. All in good time.

I've been 328 before... then 310 and now 256... you can do it!
I'm finally only a few lbs away from Gold so I cannot wait to read the Sabatoge session you told me about. It seems like there are some people I know that now are looking to test me. Sheesh!
I started jogging when I was a little under 265. I had jogged once when I was 310, I do not suggest that. I ended up with hairline fractures all over my feet and a pinched nerve!
Don't sweat it. Work on your muscles, when you get closer to goal, if you want to jog you will. In the mean time if you prep your muscles, when you are ready to jog your boy will be a little more prepared!
Congrats on the loss!
