View NEXUSNRG's food & exercise for this day
Worked out for the first time in two weeks today. Reason being, this mystery foot problem I seem to have started back up a few weeks ago (a couple of days after my last workout) and even though it wasn't bad enough to keep me in bed for a week I limped everywhere in pain for the past two weeks.
I feel like I'm walking on eggshells right now because it can occur without any symptom or stress. I can be feeling like a million bucks, walking strong and feeling good, then go to bed and after waking up get up and have this pain along the side or top of my foot, and it intensifies throughout the week. On my bad cycles it seems to get so bad that I absolutely can not stand on it or nothing. I become bedridden and restricted to using a walker to get myself to the bathroom.
I've seen two foot specialists and neither of them know what's wrong with me. I can't keep going to the doctor when this happens because it's costing me too much money, so that's why I say I'm walking on eggshells. It has me real concerned for working out in case it some how is some type of stress/weight related injury. But it'll go away just as mysteriously as it appears.
I'll go to bed with the pain, and then the next day it's gone, and I'll be back to walking on it one hundred percent pain free! It's the weirdest thing, and it happens randomly on either foot. Thankfully it hasn't happened on both at the same time.
It feels like I've broken something, but I haven't. And the pain moves around from the top to the side, to the ankles, to the ball of my foot to the toes, it just moves around, so it never stays in one place, and it seems like I'll go a month or so with no pain and then it'll show up unexpectedly for 4 or 5 days, and on the bad cycles (as I call them) it'll be so bad to put me in bed for nearly a week.
Anyhow so my workouts have suffered because of this. I'm glad I got an hour in today but it's only been a couple of days since my last cycle of pain disappeared. sigh... depressed, my entire month of september was blown with absolutely no weight lost. I can't seem to really break this 360 pound mark. I keep dropping down to 358 and then it'll come back to 360-363 and alternate. It's been very discouraging this past month.
Anyhow, I'm still here, still working on it, it's just slow moving right now. 97 lbs lost since my highest weight, and I know that's an accomplishment, but I'm not happy, or satisfied with that. I need more! I have about another 100 lbs to lose before I feel accomplished.

I've been missing you around here and wondering when we'd hear from you. I am sorry to hear that it was such a discouraging September. Meanwhile you are still such an inspiration to me! You've come so far and you're not giving up. I can understand your frustration, because it's like you can't even control the foot thing. I hope you can find some help with that soon. You'll be in my thoughts . . .

:mohawk2: rock on Man... just keep trucking.

I've had months of no loss here and there. It can happen. But remember in the long run you've lost NINETY SEVEN FREAKING POUNDS!!!! That is amazing!
Sometimes you can hit a plateau. I did some looking around on the internet and I did some of the things they suggested and broke though the plateau!

Sorry Jimmy you are still having issues with your feet. I hope you can find a doc that can help you. I am sure there is a reason for the pain, they just need to find it.
I am stuck in a plateau too, so I feel your frustration and I am glad to hear you are not giving up! We can do this!

Don't get discouraged. Maybe you can try swimming? Not sure- but don't let this injury set you back. You have almost lost an entire person- and that is something you should be proud of! Please stay focused- losing more weight will only make matters better. Hang in there! Jump in on the forums for an extra jolt of motivation!

I've been wondering where you went! I'm sorry to hear about the foot pain...been there done that. Mine worked out to be connected to needing good shoes and to keeping good alignment during the night. There are also some ankle wraps you can get that velcro around your ankles and you can put ice packs in them. Foot pain is terrible!! If my feet are sore at bedtime I put those wraps on. I've also slept with my shoes on to keep my feet from cramping.
