5k Update:
So I talked to my friend Thursday and yesterday morning and told her about the whole conversation with hubby. She's the one who told me about the 5k and she did it too. Anyway, my friend is very soft spoken most of the time and she said she'd like to tell my husband a thing or two. That really told me something and as she and I talked about my options, I decided that no matter what, I was going to the 5k. If I had to bring both kids and walk the whole thing with the stoller, that's what I would do, but I'm not going to let him stop me from doing things that are important to me, even if they are considered "leisure". I signed up yesterday morning and didn't tell him.

So last night he started feeling sick with stomach flu and spent much of the night in the bathroom. This has been going around in our family. Thank goodness, he didn't have the vomiting, just the "D". So this morning I was going to leave both kids with him (he was going to be home anyway, right? :) ) and he said no way. So I took the baby with me.
I pushed him in the stroller and I did one minute run/walk intervals. So my time was 42 mins. I don't remember the seconds. I felt pretty good and I think I could do more--longer running intervals and shorter walking ones. But I am just starting out with running, and my doctor just gave me the okay for jogging after my knee injections so I want to take it slow. I don't want to risk any injury.
So my friend and I plan to run every Saturday morning. My husband works every other Saturday and I plan to just find someone to watch the kids for me. Even on his off weekends. From this experience I have learned if I really want to do something, I cannot count on him to watch the kids. But I also learned to go after what I want, not to back down just because he tells me no about something. I can find a way to make the situation work if it is something worthwhile.

About food: I wasn't sure when to take my free day. I thought it should be tomorrow since it will be Mother's Day and we plan to go to Silver Dollar City. But this 5k had a bunch of free food afterwards. Is that normal??? There were icecream bars, popcorn, donuts, bagels, pancakes on sticks, and a bunch of fruit. I guess you burn a bunch of calories and then pig out??
Well, I had some popcorn and an icecream bar. So I figured I am taking my free day today. I stopped at Walgreens on the way home to get my hubby some Immodium, and I got some candy :teeth: .
I got one of those huge boxes of Hot Tamales. It's already gone. Plus I made cookies and already ate a bunch. I feel gross and sick.
I'm just having such a hard time with motivation lately. I don't know what the deal is.

On my way to the 5k. I may have to take the baby--hubby has stomach flu. Will update later. Jusyt wanted you to know that I'm going!

I'm so happy you were able to do the 5K. Running is something you need to do for you!! It's not leisure...it's a necessity! :)
