View NIKKI8's food & exercise for this day

Weird day today. It was my husband's b-day and he took the day off work. Actually they off b-days as paid vacation. So we were all thrown off with him being home. I thought Collin had a fever last night so I wasn't sure if I should send him to school. I went to wake him up and he was sleeping so deep, was actually snoring, so I let him sleep and he slept till 10! He was a tired little boy. But he wasn't sick and probably could have gone to school.
I usually grocery shop, clean floors and sometimes I walk with my stroller group on Mondays. Well, none of that happened because of the above and I was so out of sorts. We got nothing done. My husband was frustrated because of that but he didn't really try to get anything done  so I don't know what he could expect.
The good news is that I did well with food and exercise today. Focused on my food plan and didn't eat emotionally even with my husband home! That is quite an accomplishment as I have noticed that I eat more on the weekends because it is less structured, but also because he is around and I eat from the emotional stress. So I need to have more days like today.
Well, I really don't have much else to say today. Actually, I just thought of something else. Collin is still driving me crazy. I was actually hoping he was sick so that it would explain his behavior. He is getting bossy with me, trying to order me around (I think this is normal for 3yo, but chime in if it's not), he is pushing limits like crazy, he is doing everything he can to delay going to bed. I want to pull my hair out at times. And on top of all that, his stuttering is so bad right now. I takes forever for the poor thing to get a sentence out and (I feel like an awful mother for saying this) but it is hard to be patient, listen and not finish his sentence. He was tested for speech by the school district last week and I meet with them next week about the results so I can see how much of this is age appropriate.
Okay, I think that really is all for now. :bye:

I usually run during lunch. I'm very lucky to have a fitness center at work. Telling myself that I have no excuse not to use it is what keeps me going. When I do the dvd, it's in the am. I just have a hard time getting up at 5am! Especially this time of year when it's dark and cold. In the summer, I'd get up early and run, but I can't get myself out of bed when it's cold! I'm getting the Food Network cookie e-mails and got a gluten free one yesterday that I thought I'd pass on. It's Cinnamon Stars or Zimtsterne if you want to look it up. They look yummy. I'm going to make some. I'll let you know if they're any good.

Great job on the eating and exercising yesterday! I think Collin is doing age appropriate things as well. Harry didn't have the stuttering issue but had lots of other ones.

Yes, my Arbonne thing is over and closed. She and I traded shows for each other. It went well. We both got sales and bookings for each other, so it was successful. If you still need to order something, I can give you her info. Let me know.

Awesome, awesome, awesome job on handling your food choices:rock1::rock1: under stressful circumstances. This is the Nikki we KNOW is inside you! Of course Collin's behavior is totally age-appropriate. Also, I'm not sure how long the stuttering has been going on, but I wanted to say that Ally went through a stuttering phase right around her third birthday. She is an incredibly verbal kid ... talked very early, big vocabularly, etc. And all of a sudden she started stuttering really bad. I just freaked out. Called Parents As Teachers. Called the Pediatrian. I was ready to call in the Marines! But they convinced me that this was an age-appropriate phase, and it did pass in just a month or so and she was back to being an excellent talked. Every now and then it will still come out just a bit when she gets really excited. I don't know if that helps or not, but I hope it does. As for the bossiness ... I have the queen of bossiness here too, so let me know when you figure out how to handle that one:bang:

Yay on the good day! I hope today is normal. I think bossiness and limit pushing is completely normal. My kids are champs at it! LOL

Sorry for your rough day but it sounds like you were able to just take it one day at a time and you made it through, good job Nikki! No advice on the wee one, but I hope you can get it figured out.
