Good news and bad news
Good news first: my jeans fit better today!

They are my size 12s and I can actually button them without nearly passing out. Before I was having to unbutton them when I was driving.

So that is encouraging.
The bad news is that I had a big slip up today with food. It is pizza day at Collin's school which means I have to make him his own pizza. I didn't have time and I drove through Braum's and got him a meal with a shake. I got Carter the same thing. Well, guess who drank most of Carter's shake? It was a kid's size, but still I feel awful about it. So the key is to not let this ruin the rest of my day. Stay on track and make healthy choices the rest of the day.
Mommy Assertiveness continued
Thank you guys for your comments about my struggles as a mom. I really appreciated them.
I talked to my husband this morning about the changes I want to make. He is not really supportive of them at all.
The first thing I want to do is have everyone sit down together at dinner. Right now Chris and I take turns eating dinner and Carter usually eats with me. Collin eats whenever. That needs to change. My husband thinks it will be a mess to try to make everyone sit down together. Yeah, it probably will be, but it needs to be done. This is very important.
Second, I want to stop falling asleep with Collin. He really doesn't want to give that up for his own reasons. I think I have to let that go. I will keep encouraging him to make changes, but if nothing else on the nights I put Collin to bed and for naps, Collin will learn to sleep without us.
Okay, I have to go pick up Collin from school. I will update later about how I made healthy choices the rest of the day!

It's all about the spin! Make sure that Collin understands that daddy falling asleep with him is 'special' and not the norm. YOUR way is the norm for him! I still struggle with Maya on the going to bed by herself issue...I do go back in a few times, but then I tell her that we are "done" and that I'll be back when it's time for me to go to bed (I still sleep with her through the night..it's just easier if she wakes up!). She seems to accept it better when specifically tell her that we are done...don't know why!!

You could be having CC issues. Or check to make sure nothing has changed on your labels. For instance, Healthy Choice chicken and rice soup is no longer GF.

for me it's mainly just almonds (roasted, salted)
 ... but a company called Maisie Jane's makes these awesome coffee-coated almonds that are equally addictive. CocoaVia makes 140-cal packs that are chocolate-covered (I eat one of those every night) ... I just love 'em. Okay - gotta see what your other questions were ... oh yeah - kids gone tomorrow (phew) so I should have some time ...

Dick has had the same problem since OCtober --- the HR does not register on the watch. Instead of a HR it shows 00. I sent the strap in twice, the first time they repaired it, second time they replaced it. It still showed 00 on the watch. The strap from my F4, however, worked fine with the watch (that is why I thought it was a strap problem). But I opted to send the whole thing in this time so they can see what I am talking about and hopefully they fix it right!

Loved your comments last night
:laugh5: I'm glad I got to read it before I left and say goodbye
:hi: I am up early to finish packing, get the kiddos off to school and go!. I have to agree with the other girls on the comments about family dinners. Fight for that. And Google some articles to show him. If we are all home, we all eat together -- even if we happen to be eating different things -- we sit down at the table together, NO TV. Those are some special time to find out about each other's day and connect. I
 that you want to change that. Well, I better go

I always made our family sit down to dinner because I thought it gave us all a chance to visit and stay in touch, no TV going, no nagging or negative comments allowed. My youngest left for college and when she came back she found Mom and Dad eating in front of the TV often. She didn't like it and said sharing dinner time is important. We now eat at the table again. I have heard similar comments from my 26 and 28 years old sons also. So hang in there ......some day it will pay off.

First - Yay to jeans fitting! Second - Another case of eating it because it was there. It's so hard to not do that! Don't let it ruin your day. Think of it as a glass of milk.
=D I hope your husband comes around to the dinner thing. It's so important for families to eat together. There are tons of articles out there about it. Print some off and show them to him. As for the sleep thing, I'm with you - if he wants to fall asleep with Collin, let him. You don't have to. It's a start.

Way to go on the jeans fitting better! That is always something that makes you feel good! I am sorry that your husband is not supporting you. Eating as a family is something that is SO important to me, it always has been; that is how I was raised and I've always insisted on that with Kevin and also when his son is here. That is our special time of the day to be a family together and catch up on everyone's day. I am sure having little children would make it harder, but then there would also be both of you there together (you and Chris) and no distractions to take away from the task at hand (like a tv or a person in another room). I hope you can find a way to make that work.

A shake is a treat and not a reason to start eating junk all day. Stop there and you will feel good about yourself. STOP. STOP!!! It's OK, it really is!
