A Date!!
My husband and I went on a date today and it was a daytime date! I had suggested we go on a date since my MIL was missing the kids like crazy and hadn't seen them since we came back from Chi-town. Usually we do dinner and/or a movie. But he suggested we do something different. We went to Branson (it's only about 45 mins from here) to the 57 Heaven museum. It's the one owned by Dick Clark and has over 60 cars and other paraphenalia from 1957 only. It was so cool. I loved being alone with my husband without the kids looking at cool cars and other stuff. They had toys, clothes, appliances and even had an entire portion of a house all from 1957. Do you know how long it has been since I've been able to take my time and look at a car? We go to car shows all the time during the season, but I don't get to do more than a quick look anymore. So this was so nice. After about 2 hours looking

we had dinner at the diner restaurant.
It really was a wonderful day and I actually enjoyed being with my husband!

Things have been better with us ever since I came back from Chicago and told him how miserable I was in our marriage. He has really been trying and he has really cut back on his drinking. He is only drinking on the weekends. So that is an improvement.
Food
Gluten free oreo-type cookies found their way into my house yesterday!

We were at the store and I never go down the cookie aisle because I don't want my son to see all the stuff he can't eat. But I went down there to check out the almonds (

Sarah) and he saw Oreo cookies and wanted some. It breaks my heart when that happens. So I told him we could get some for him without wheat at the healthfood store. We got vanilla and chocolate kind. (For Susan, these are the K-Toos.) My kids don't seem to like chocolate

so I ended up having a bunch of the chocolate ones. Um, once I started with one, I kept having more. And more. And more. Last night I had 8

and this morning after breakfast I had 4! Yikes!

Do you know how long it has been since I've had an oreo? Probably almost a year and a half. Not an excuse, just so you understand. But those will not be entering my house anymore.
But the all-or-nothing thinking just through me off (me too, Sarah

) and it's been awful ever since. Well, I didn't expect to eat well during our date. But I had chips for lunch (yeah, real good) and some turtles tonight.
Exercise
No exercise today. Except

. Hee Hee.
Sorry, TMI.
Daily Joy
Hmm. It's been a busy day. But I may scrapbook after I'm done here. If my husband is still awake after he puts Collin to bed, we plan to watch a movie. We'll see.
Daily Gratitude
So thankful for the day with my husband.

It's nice to feel this way again. I'm thankful to God for sustaining me through the hard times so that I can experience some good times again. I know there will be more difficulties, but this gives me hope.
Other
My stomach issues are getting worse. My husband's noticing and worrying too. I am checking labels on things, but I don't know what it could be. I did start new vitamins about 2 weeks ago. That really is the only new thing that might have gluten in them. I am not going to take them for a few days and see if it helps.
I don't get this. I had a piece of regular cake at my mom's b-day party a few weeks ago and no reaction at all. Now I'm having symptoms and I have no idea where they are coming from.
I Hate Celiac Disease!!!

It makes me so angry

.
I am worried that I've developed lactose intolerance. Please don't let me have another allergy and more foods to cut out. Ugh! Or maybe I'm going to have to be extra careful about cross contamination. THat is such a pain in the butt.
Okay, I think I'm done whining for now.

:eyebrows: I like the thought that things are really improving for you guys! and ug on the all-or-nothing decision making. it is so effing hard to beat. it is so hard to fight the desire to go back for more! some days I'm up to that fight, and some days I'm not. Oreos are a TOTAL
:nono5: for me - I have no control around them.

Yea for great husband date - good for you! It could be the vitamins -- check the label and make sure they say gluten free. I'm with you -- there are days when I hate having Celiac and I just want to eat a pizza! I have always hated Oreos, so I don't miss those. I can eat an entire box of Pamela's chocolate chip cookies though -- those are totally yummy!

I'm so happy you had a nice date with hubby! I hope you can figure out what's going on with your tummy. That does not sound fun at all. Hang in there. And throw away the cookies! Cookies are evil. I think I'm going to put a "NO COOKIES ALLOWED" sign on my front door. It's hard enough to keep myself from buying or making them, but when people bring them over, you have to say "thank you" and accept them gracefully. Sorry - I'm turning your comment into my vent!
