Thursday, Mar 6 2008 - still sick, if you can believe it

Sorry I haven't updated (Ashli :laugh5: ). It's not that I've been particularly busy; I've just not wanted to take the time away from the boys to come update today. And last night I fell asleep on the couch at 8:30! :bigeyes3: I never go to sleep that early. I had a bad headache and laid down with a heating pad. I didn't realize how tired I was.
I'm slowly getting better, but my stomach is still bloated and sometimes cramping. I am eating some, but still not as much as usual. My appetite is not 100%.
Collin is still pretty sick. He was fine on Tuesday. No fever, no vomiting. So on Wednesday morning we got up and he complained that he was too tired to go to school. I took his temp and it was higher than normal but not fever level. He also didn't eat breakfast. I sent him to school and told them to call me if he seemed like he didn't feel well. I dropped Carter off at my MIL and went to do my housecleaning-for-money gig.
When I went to pick him up from school, he was really out of it. At my MIL's he wandered around in a daze. When we got home, he had a fever and went right to sleep. I felt bad that I sent him to school, but I didn't know. He also started getting cold symptoms, like runny nose, coughing, sneezing.
Today still had a fever, not real high but enough to feel lousy. So I ended up taking him to the doctor.
She says it's viral and could be the flu. Which surprised me with the vomiting, but she said it could include that. I don't know since Carter vomited once too but hasn't had any other symptoms. Who know.
Bottom line. I paid $30 copay of the $50 I made housecleaning for the doc to tell me it's viral and there's nothing we can do. Don't you just love that?
Both boys fell asleep on the way home, so I drove around (wasting valuable gas) catching up on phone calls.
When we got home after they woke up, I just hung out with them and played with them.

It's amazing to me that I've been home all week, hardly gone anywhere and yet my house is still a mess and I've hardly got anything done. I know I've not been feeling good, but not to the point where I couldn't do anything. I've just been lazy with my sick boys. It's been kind of nice, actually.
I have been doing laundry as just about everyone's linens have gotten soiled in some way this week. In fact, we almost have no clean clothes because I've been doing so many linens and towels.

I have no desire to eat meat whatsoever right now. When I think about planning my menu and grocery list for next week, nothing sounds good to me at all. I haven't cooked all week, except to make pizza one night. Ugh. The thought of eating a real dinner makes my stomach turn. I'm wondering when/if this will end. It's really lingering.
Okay, I think I've rambled enough. Good night.

BTW - Do you think that book has enough allergy info in it for it to be a good read for me?

 Your poor family! I hope you all are on the mend so you can have a nice weekend. Plan a week of easy on the tummy and easy on mommy meals. There's nothing wrong with oatmeal for dinner!

Sorry to hear you all aren't feeling well. The flu is supposed to be really bad this year. I didn't buy a bassinet as they were expensive. We tried a play pen, but Daniel didn't like it. He sleeps in his crib and has since he was 3 weeks old. He's tiny for it, but it works.
