I did better today with my food plan, but had a few slips ups. In the afternoon, I had 2 chocolate covered strawberries--the huge gourmet kind that probably has tons of fat grams. With dinner I had doritos and I had more when my husband got home. I logged it all really quick--I haven't logged in months but I was curious how the day turned out. It is probably still going to come in okay since I didn't have a real lunch. Just fruit and yogurt as I was so busy running to an appointment.
I can't remember if I wrote about this, but the personal trainer of my bootcamp class took my stats--measured with a caliper and all that. And she told me I need 1880 calories a day to lose weight!!

That is if I exercise and don't subtract it, of course. But that amazed me. That's alot! I like that!
I did exercise today but it was only 20 minutes on the elliptical. I didn't workout at all yesterday so I was determined to do something even though Carter was whining the whole time I was doing it. He wanted me to pick him up and hold him while I exercised.

Don't think so, little stinker.
Speaking of him being a little stinker, yesterday morning we had the parent educator from Parents as Teachers coming to our house (this is a free program through the school district in our state. This lady has been coming to our house since Collin was born and she's wonderful.)
Anyway, we were short on time and I wanted to take a quick shower before she came. Well, I got out of the shower and in walks Carter with a blue mouth, tongue and his hands are all covered with blue marker.
I asked him, "Uh, Carter, what did you do with the marker?" He looks at me, smiles really big and says, "Mouth".

Then he sticks his tongue out to show me that he has a blue tongue. I took him over to the sink and before I washed him up, I let him look at himself in the mirror. He thought that was so funny, but he was really upset when he realized it was on his hands.

He was saying, "Hands!" and tried to wipe off the marker.

So I got him washed up--not all of it, of course--got myself dressed, but my hair was still wet when she arrived. And I told her the whole story.
What a stinker! I usually don't leave markers around like that, but they had colored the night before and I forgot they were there. I was just really thankful that he didn't get marker on the carpet or walls or anything else!
Collin fell down the stairs tonight and gave us quite a scare. Our stairs are carpeted, thank goodness. But I heard huge, repeated thumps and I ran over to the stairs in time to see him standing up. He said, "I'm okay" and then burst into tears. I felt so bad for him and held him. I started looking him over and asking him where it hurts. It took a few minutes, but he calmed down but wouldn't tell me if anything hurts. He's always like that with injuries. He won't tell us if something is wrong. He's afraid of band-aids. Well, after he calmed down he wanted to watch a movie. I was watching it with him, thinking nothing of it when my husband tells me we need to call the doctor.

I disagreed. Collin seemed fine to me. Chris got so mad at me. I told him if he was so worried he could call hiimself and I gave him the number.
He gave me the coldest look, a look of pure hatred. I can't even explain it. And his tone of voice was cold and angry.
So he called. Collin is not showing any symptoms at all of a problem. But to be safe, they want me to wake him up every four hours. Just Great. Then my husband was very smug with me, like, see, I told you so.
So guess who has to wake up the child in the middle of the night? Yes, you already know that answer. Not Mr. Righteous Know-It-All.
I don't mind being careful. I honestly didn't think to call the doctor because I really thought he was fine. It was how Chris handled it that bothered me.
Oh, well, I'm going to go scrapbook and watch the season finale of Lost!!

I'm just waiting for the day when Daniel does things like that! I'd say screw it -- you want to call the doctor, you check on him every 4 hours and I'm not doing it.

That is a HILARIOUS story about Collin and the marker - and it also sounds like you did pretty well food-wise. You might have had a couple "slip ups" but they weren't really slip ups b/c you didn't let them get out of control - you didn't binge, you know?! Give yourself credit for that. I'm sorry that Chris spoke to you in that way - that should not be allowed - I hope you know that you did nothing wrong..... nothing at all... You sound good, though, Nikki - in control of yourself and very smart.
