OLDARMYMED's CalorieKing blog

Friday, Sep 5 2014 - Reduced Waist = Reduced Waste

View OLDARMYMED's food & exercise for this day

I have noticed a marked reduction in my food expenditures since I began this journey. I eat smaller meals even though I eat more often. Veggies and fruit are cheaper than meat. Leftovers become meals for the following day instead of morphing into a brown liquid in the bottom of the fridge because it is easier to eat them than it is to figure out the calorie content on another concoction. Plus, if I'm going to be charged 200 or 300 calories for something, I'm going to enjoy every single morsel of it!! My plate is cleaner than it has ever been at the end of a meal - both at home and in a restaurant. I have a new mantra, "Not a single crumb for the landfill, not a drop of gravy for the disposal." It almost makes me want to weigh and subtract the un-popped kernels in the bottom of the Orville Redenbacher bag.
