Travel Time

Sunday, September 7th 2014

I am about to embark on my first multi-day trip since starting in July. A week in Baltimore's inner harbor area for a convention. This will be my litmus test for luxury hotel food. My past experience is that the kitchen will do whatever you want as long as it is reasonable so a grilled naked chicken breast and some steamed veggies should be manageable. It is more an issue of overcoming temptation than of actually eating healthy foods. I should have internet access so keeping up with posting and...

Another Goal - CRUSHED!!!

Saturday, September 6th 2014

I am doing the HAPPY DANCE!!! I broke 300 today, not only broke, but CRUSHED. Tipped in at 296, which also takes me past 10% from my starting weight. Killed two goals with one stone. I just had my first bit of food for the day (it is almost noon) and have not felt the least pangs of hunger. I ate an apple. That's it, just one apple. I didn't eat it because I was hungry; I ate it was because I know I need the nourishment.

I can equate my general attitude about my progress based on how strongly the hun...

Progress

Wednesday, September 3rd 2014

There are days when I feel like I am going in reverse even though my clothes are looser, my diary shows I am well within my limit, and the scale tells me I've lost pounds. I feel sluggish and flabby regardless. Then I have to ask myself how I actually measure "progress." Further to that, what is progress anyway?

My purpose is to get healthy and live a fuller and longer life. So if I feel sluggish am I achieving that goal? Makes me wonder sometimes but I keep reminding myself t...
